Purchasing MagicBands

Can I purchase magic bands through the disney store online and then use them at the parks if I am not getting them as part of a room/tickets/dining package (ie: we are staying offsite)?
If I purchase them, how do I get them linked to our myDisneyExperience account so that they are loaded with our tickets, dining reservations and fastpass reservations?

Open your MDE, go to MagicBands, press Link (at bottom of page)
Inside your MagicBands will be a serial number, you key that in

A point of clarification: Your bands don't get "loaded with" anything. They simply act as a key to access your MDE account. That's why all active bands linked to your account are interchangeable.
