Purchasing hard ticket MNSSHP w/ DVC discount?

Hi all,

I have heard that is is better to buy hard tickets for MNSSHP rather than put on MDE/Magic Bands as it gives you 3 additional FP+ for that day at the park (after 4). We aren't planning to use one of our park tickets that day as it is our arrival day. Does anyone know if I can purchase hard tix for MNSSHP with a DVC discount, and how to go about that?

They are not on sale yet, but when they go on sale, if there is a DVC discount you would go through the link on the member site.

You can buy the discounted tickets online, but you'll get a voucher to pick up hard tickets in person. You have to show your DVC membership card in person to confirm the discount. I don't think you can have the hard tickets mailed to you if you use the DVC discount.

Huh - I wonder if they give you a ticket number. I do have a secondary MDE account I am not using this trip to link them to (if they give a number in advance) and perhaps that might work for FP+?

I purchased MVMCP tickets last November by calling the regular ticket line and I recieved the dvc discount. They mailed me cards and also gave me the ticket numbers to link to Mde. I did not have to go pick them up at guest services.

Do you have to buy separate tickets even if you have APs?

Yes you need separate tickets. AP are not valid for admission to hard ticket events like the Halloween and Christmas parties

When I gt mine last year with the DVC discount, I just printed out at home and took them with us. At the gate that night, the gate attendant simply scanned the number.

Tickets go on sale today (4/8/15). I was already up early and snagged ours for November 1. I neglected to see if the discount was applied, duh.

I also bought ours this morning and the price was $63 with the discount vs $68 without.

If it's linked to MDE, do you still have to stop at the gate? I'm a bit confused as to how to avoid stopping at GR. Last time we got there at 4pm and it was almost 40m wait!

Link your MNSSHP ticket or voucher number in MDE, then you can select the 3 FP+ from 4-7pm. I was able to do this last year.

I decided to call and order hard tickets. They applied DVC discount. They also gave me confirmation number so I can link to MDE should I choose to do so (I have two MDE accounts and wasn't sure which one I wanted to use). Thanks everyone!

Do they usually sell out? We got tickets 3 years ago on Halloween, but I'm not actually sure if Halloween is less busy?

No, if you are already in the park they will have kiosk you can scan you ticket at so you don't need to exit and enter.
