Not advocating direct or resale, but we were recently notified by our guide that the direct prices will increase Feb 11th.Hi all,
We have been Polynesian owners since 2015 and love DVC. We have two kids and also love camping. We want to add on 75-150 points with the Cabins so we can do annual/bi annual split stays between PVB and CFW but I am hoping to get the best price possible. I keep hoping that the cabins go on a fire sale like what happened for VGF in summer 2023, but that doesn’t seem to be coming soon. I also haven’t seen a single resale contract. What
I don't think anything, even the popular fixed weeks, will sell out anytime in the near future at CFW lol. It should be safe to wait on the Lakeshore Lodge news in the future
Sure, and they could also stop adding more inventory and change the rest of the developer inventory to the hotel side. But in both of these cases, it would not be "selling out," it would be like them abandoning ship lol.But DVD can stop selling a FW anytime they want…they don’t have to sell the full 35% and with the cabins, and the addition they may not.
Week 43 of Halloween was sold out long ago. I’m not sure if 44 is still available and I don’t know if any of the Christmas weeks are available.I don't think anything, even the popular fixed weeks, will sell out anytime in the near future at CFW lol. It is not really sold out. They have so few units declared that they just cannot sell another right now without going above the 35% limit in the contracts.Week 43 of Halloween was sold out long ago. I’m not sure if 44 is still available and I don’t know if any of the Christmas weeks are available.

And even if they stop selling fixed weeks early then those weeks will be easier to get via normal booking. I wouldn't be worried about it
Just to clarify - this needs to be a direct purchase to use the Cabins. If you actually want to use the cabins, you can go ahead and buy whenever really. Like you said I don't think they are in a hurry to sell them out and put them on any major sale.
Yeah, this is always a winning plan. Raise the price on an unpopular product that isn't selling well and see if that solves the problem. Not advocating direct or resale, but we were recently notified by our guide that the direct prices will increase Feb 11th.
I don't know, FOMO is "sometimes" real. I put off adding on a few VGF points before they sold out and kick myself over that far too often.Sure, and they could also stop adding more inventory and change the rest of the developer inventory to the hotel side. While Dog Friendly is the only reason I WOULD buy there. A perfect example of why DVC has so many different resort setupsBeing that Fort Wilderness cabins is a dog friendly resort, kinda kills it for me.
...
I’m not sure I want to purchase points in a resort to sleep in a bed a wet dog was in the night before.

A direct fixed week is no longer in my family budget (getting closer to retirement), but I will say, if finances were not tight, I would look VERY closely at a fixed week for my one Direct purchase - there is a value in knowing the dates of your trips years in advance (and you can still change them if you enjoy the booking gameBut DVD can stop selling a FW anytime they want…they don’t have to sell the full 35% and with the cabins, and the addition they may not.
Other than towel service at the pool , they have the same/similar amenities to a resort like OKW. Unless I am missing a perk ?The Cabins almost have to be part of Lakeshore Lodge when it is built. As it stands now the Cabins have almost zero of the same amenities offered at every other DVC resort and are selling at a pace that will require the full length of the current leasehold to sell out. Not what Disney (or owners for that matter) want.
