Purchasing DVC with a Disney CC

if they will let you pay with a cc, it would be more advantageous to use something like a citi double cash or something of the sort. disney visa does not incentivize past 1% and they are the lowest of all incentives. they are only good if you need 6 months to pay off a trip.
The Disney Premier VISA offers 2% back when purchasing DVC (as well as most Disney locations and also on gas, restaurant, and grocery stores). The 2% back combines with the 0% interest for 6 months makes it very worthwhile to use the Disney Premier VISA for DVC purchases.

For those of you who have the Disney CC.. if you apply and are approved, How soon after you are approved can you use the card??

You are going to be close if you want to buy by the 16th. What I will say is that you can just put down a down payment for like like $2k area and then wait on the Disney Visa after.

Correct and while its $50/yr you can always downgrade the account in the future.

The issue you are going to run in to is lots of cards seem to be catching on and not giving out the standard rewards for a timeshare purchase that you might see for other purchases or travel purchases through Disney.

That is true. I know at one point that the Sapphire considered it travel but I don’t know if it still does (it comes through as Disney escrow), but the Disney Premier VISA still does give the full 2% for DVC. I’m in the middle of my 90 days spread of charges for my direct purchases.

Unless something has changed, the Disney Premier VISA gets 2% back plus 0% no interest on a DVC purchase.

One thing to be aware of with Chase is the 5/24 rule. If you have opened 5 or more cards in the last 24 months you will not be approved for CHase.

I have a follow up question. If I purchase OTU with my Disney Chase, does that qualify for the 6-month 0% financing too? I’ve never tried it before, but am thinking of adding some for my spring trip. Thanks!

I thought yes, but I just looked back on my CC statement, and the answer is unfortunately no. You get the 2% but not the 6-month 0% financing.

Chase Disney now has the "payment plan" if you would like. No "interest," just a fixed amount. It also has a calculation tool in case you want to see your month set up: 6 months/ 12 months/ 18 months. The fixed rate turns out to be around 3.7 percent of the plan. I'll put my entire direct purchase on the plan, earn 180 points (I know that's low, but I want the points to go to Disney) and pay off in 18 months. The funds are actually there, but I want the cash for a resale.

How do you get this? Do you ask Disney or Chase and do it before or after charge?

Yes, please let us know. I’m still waiting on the return call from my guide. I might change my purchasing strategy last minute if the terms are good.

You do it when it posts to your statement. An option will come up: Pay with "my chase plan?" Check your last statement to see if you notice this option. Call Disney, I guess if you don't see it. I just know I have it on mine.
