If I have only vouchers for AP before leaving home, is it possible to purchase the DDE card somewhere onsite once we arrive and exchange the vouchers for tickets?

Thanks!!

I think that the only way you can get the DDE card is by calling (407) 566-5858.

I think I read somewhere that they will fax you your membership info so you can use your discount.

I believe the only way to purchase the DDE is by calling that number..

I would call that number and ask how to go about getting this card and that you have your voucher for your AP which you will activate once you get to WDW.... I would hope that they would be able to answer this for you and make it relatively easy....if you encounter any difficulties, ask to speak to guest services.....or their supervisor....

First of all you can order the DDE when you have a voucher in hand. They will ask for the string of numbers and letters at the bottom.

If it is not possible to get a card to you in the mail they will have a temporary card waiting for you (in an envelope) at the Guest Services location outside Epcot's main gate. It will be accessible during Epcot's hours (including EMH) plus about a half hour on each side. They will hold the card for up to 30 days at GS.

If you wait until you get to WDW and get the AP you can call them (8:30-4:00, M-F) and the temporary will be av ailab le starting at 5:30pm that day.

Cheshire Figment is right .. you can order a DDE card with just the voucher. I did it for our last trip.

You can call when you are there, (with your AP or your voucher, either one) I had to do that last trip. LOL I forgot to do it before I left, so picked up the phone as soon as we were in our room and called. I picked it up at Epcot later that day.

Things must have changed. When we got ours in May 2005, we just walked up to guest services at MK and bought one. I guess you can't do that anymore.

My DH did this on our trip this past summer. We all needed new AP's and when I called DDE they gave me explicit directions on what to do. And seeing that he was staying at WDW first(the KIDS and I went to HRH for a few nights)I elected him to pick up our DDE temporary cards. He purchased his AP,called DDE #, and later that day picked up our temporary cards! (VERY easy) Joan

Are you talking about an Annual Pass or the Disney Dining Experience Card?

An AP can be purchased at any park (including water parks) ticket window or park Guest Services location.

A DDE card can only be ordered by phone or mail, and only place temporary card can be picked up is Epcot Guest Relations outside the front gated.

Our DDE card did not make it to us in time. We went as instructed to Guest Service at Epcot where we picked up our "regular" card. A card had been sent in the mail, which they said would not be valid. So we did pick up our regular card at Epcot. This was last November though.

Whatever the specific policy is about the details, if you do not get one in the mail by the time you leave, you can get "something" to use at Guest Services at Epcot. And they said the same thing to me... if I didn't get my AP in time, that I could get my AP there at any Guest Services and my DDE card would be available for use the next day.

A few months back it took about 2 weeks for ours to arrive.

I ordered the DDE last year after they opened it up to AP holders. Because of the back log, they faxed a confirmation letter to me at the resort. I HATED using the confirmation--it took forever for CMs to read it, question it, etc. Everytime I went to use it, I had a problem, including one time at the AllStars Music food court, when the CM (Way was her name) flatly refused to use the confirmation, and charged me full price.

Once I had the card, I had no problems whatsoever. I plan on allowing enough time to receive the card when I order it next.
