Purchasing APs with GCs

Just had a thought . . . my DH and I have multiple Disney GCs from various things over the last year, and it would be nice to have APs this year and piggy back another trip or two. Is there a way to purchase APs with numerous GCs? Any ideas? TIA

Yes. Any ticket window at WDW can take an unlimited number of Disney Gift Cards for one transaction, even including multiple Premium Annual Passes.

We can only take three types of payment during a transaction; cash is one, unlimited Disney Gift Cards counts as one, and otherwise any debit, credit, or non-Disney GC counts as one for each card used.

I think the reservation system computers only allow two forms of payment at a time, and each GC there is a form of payment. Also, you would have to read off a sixteen digit number to the operator, and it would have to be read back to you after entering for confirmation.

At a window all we do is swipe the cards through the reader, one at a time. And the receipt that is issued will show teach of the cards by serial number and the amount used from the card.

No, you can not do this. I asked about it last month when I ordered our tickets to MVMCP. I was told the ticket system will only accept two cards total. You can use multiple gift cards to pay for reservations, dining plan, etc. - just not tickets of any kind.

we also did this. The CM at the window wasn't sure if it was going to be ok and she wasn't terribly thrilled over it but it wasn't really a big deal.

Thanks for the information! As a planner, it might be hard to wait until we get there to buy the APs, but I am sure I would survive.

The only reason I would consider torturing myself and a phone agent with numberous gift cards would be to have the voucher in hand & be able to book an AP discount room for our trip in April, if there is one. I suppose I could take the gift cards to a Disney Store sometime when I'm near one & buy the AP that way!

I don't think they sell APs at the Disney Store.

A couple years ago we purchaed our annual passes at the Disney Store, I assume they still sell them.

Unless something has changed recently, you can book an AP rate by phone without the voucher or AP. You just can't use the passholder website to do so, and you'll have to show your AP at check-in.

If that has changed, someone please warn me now because that's my plan for April... I'm upgrading a MYW ticket to an AP when I arrive, so obviously I won't have it when I'm booking!

I just did this 3 days ago, but did have a problem using 3 gift cards at the back entrance to epcot. She was only able to take 3 forms and each card counted as one. I think at main entrances and DT disney I have used more in the past, not sure why it was an issue here.

Because you had a less than fully competent person in the booth. She was wrong.

The ATS computers are set up to take three forms of payment, but if she had clicked on Disney Gift Card as a payment form you can enter an unlimited number of Disney Gift Cards in a transaction and still have two other ofrms of payment.

No. The terminals at the call centers are not hooked directly into ATS and have their own payment limitations.
