Purchasing an add-on for a new resort

Have a question for those of you that have multiple home resorts. We purchased SSR recently knowing that when Poly DVC was finished we would want to purchase there as well. Poly is by far our favorite resort but we wanted to get in and start enjoying vacations now so SSR made the most sense $$ wise. Anyway. How does it work when they open a new DVC? Do they offer any incentives to current owners or early sales. Are there min purchase restrictions? Are pints pooled or counted separately and does matching the use year really matter?

Existing owners are offered to buy first at the lowest price.

They will set the minimum when they start selling.

Each home resort is separate at 11 months and can be pooled at 7 months.

A different UY would be a separate membership and account.

i could have sworn AKV started with a decent price for owners but actually went lower later. (could have been the recession. my memory could also be faulty.)

yes. typically you can buy a minimum contract of 25 pts (cash) or 50 pts (finance).

if you buy a new UY, it will be a completely new membership (not an "add-on") and you might be required to buy a minimum of 160 pts or whatever the minimum for new buyers is at that time.

Are points pooled or counted separately...

if you have a contract with 200 SSR pts and add-on 50 Poly pts and you want to book the Poly at 11 months out, you will only have access to the Poly pts - the 50 pt contract. it will be like your SSR pts don't exist until you hit the 7 month window.

at the 7 month window, you can pool pts from both contracts together for booking whatever is available (IF they are under the same UY - if not, it is more complicated).
