Purchasing Airline Tickets for Dummies? lol

I'm so excited!! We have decided to fly to Disney in April instead of driving! We always drive, but for this upcoming trip hubby decided he doesn't want to drive from Houston to Orlando again. So, I'm wondering if y'all have any tips for buying airline tickets at the best rates? I really don't want to spend anymore than we have to. Thanks!

Typically we wait until 3 months from our departure date to buy tickets. It also depends on the size of the group going, especially if you need more than 4 tickets together. Good Luck!

Depends on when you are going in April. Easter is April 5 so that can drive up the prices of the tickets.

Three rules:

1. Start checking fares early and get a feel for what the average fares are for your route. This is so you'll know a good fare when you see it.

2. When you see a fare you can live with. Buy it. Now.

3. Once you purchase, don't check anymore. It will only make you crazy. If your airline has some sort of refund/credit scheme in place, go ahead and check.

Thanks for the tips! Our trip is planned for April 11-19. There's only 3 of us flying (and a lap baby).
