purchasing a small amount of points at different resort

we recently purchased at Saratoga springs. at the time we bought 175 points and figured that would be enough. well upon looking at all of the great resorts and thinking that as soon as finances allows, we want to purchase more points because we want to take 2 vacations a year.

what i would like to know is can we purchase a small amount of points like 50 points at another resort preferrably BCW. i would like to do this so we could secure reservations at the 11month window at 2 great places.

also is it difficult to transfer those points from one account to another

Sounds like a good idea, but remember that you can only use those 50 points at the 11 month window (home resort ressie), and have to wait to use the 175 pts until the 7 month (non-home resort ressie).

With bank & borrow, you would have access to 150 points at the 11 month window - so I am sure it will work for you.

I am pretty sure you can purchase a small amount of points on a resale....although i think the small point packages go pretty quickly....I think the 11 month issue is only a problem if you plan to travel on peek periods....otherwise you should be fine.

And you won't have to do any transfers either. As long as the contracts are in the same use year, it is seemless. DVC makes this very easy. Just tell your guide you want to do an add on and to watch for the other points.

I have done that and it works great for me.

240 at OKW
50 at BWV
60 at VWL

I like to go the first two weeks of Dec - and VWL is very hard to get then. I like the standard views at BWV so again hard to get.

So I am happy with my decision.

So far it has worked out great... I have all mine in the same use year.
