Purchasing a MagicBand @ Downtown Disney

We leave for Disney in just a couple months and will be staying off-site, but still want to get MagicBands, just so we aren't having to carry around park tickets and our photo's can link automatically to our memory maker account. We'll be going to Downtown Disney on our first afternoon and I wanted to know where in Downtown Disney we can purchase the MagicBands and if they have other options there besides just the solid color bands.

Once we get the bands, do we set the up and link them to our account ourselves using our DME account?

1. World of Disney does not sell Magic Bands. Pin Traders does though. Also, DisneyQuest Emporium on the other side (called West Side) of Downtown Disney has them. Those are the only two places. 2. Some "graphic" MagicBands are available at Pin Traders, include Anna, Elsa, and Olaf open editions. The new Mickey/Minnie Christmas one may also be there, but don't hold me to that. If you really want the Mickey/Minnie Christmas, it's in all four parks as well.

If you want Big Hero 6 or Olaf Limited Edition Santa Hat or In Summer, go to Hollywood Studios (The Darkroom and Wandering Oaken's respectively). Haunted Mansion themed bands are available at a number of locations in the Magic Kingdom, including Memento Mori. Old Not So Scary 2014 Party bands are available in Big Top Souvenirs in MK, and you can get the Mickey's Very Merry Limited Edition at the party starting on the 7th in MK.

3. A Cast Member will help you when you purchase. All "graphic" bands and limited editions must be linked at the time of purchase. Only solid color bands can be taken home for "link it later" as they call it.

Just saw the limited edition Christmas Party bands and my boyfriend is dying to buy them when we go in December. Unfortunately our Christmas party is our last day in Florida so it seems really silly to buy them for one day of use. Since they are limited to the Christmas Party I'm assuming they will only be available at the stores during the party hours. I'm not hopeful here but any chance we would be able to buy them on our way out of Magic Kingdom our first day there, say at 7:01 as we exit the park?

We were at the Halloween party and had to show our band just to even look at the limited party items. They had them out prior to 7 and there was a CM at the entrance and one at the exit.

By band, I mean the wrist band they give you for the party.
