Purchasing a Magic Band

I saw through the Disney Parks App/Store you can purchase magic bands. I'm very tempted to buy a HM magic band but I am wondering how to get it pre-linked to replace the purple standard one I'm getting for the upcoming trip. Has anyone pre-bought a magic band and managed to link it up in MDE?

The band comes with instructions to link it to your mde account. The band has a serial number on it that you use to add it to your account.

On the MagicBand & Cards page of MDE, there's a button to link retail MagicBands. Once you click that button, you enter the code off the back of the retail MagicBand to link it to your profile. All active MagicBands that are associated with your MDE profile can be used interchangeably.

All you do is type in the code on the magic band and its linked to whoever you chose to link it to.
If you then no longer want the one with your room you could decline it.
Personally though I take all the magic bands I can get lol.

There's also an option to decline the one that comes with the room reservation if you want to use the HM one exclusively.

I'll probably keep the room one in case one of us loses ours during the trip.
