Purchasing 24 points from DVC?

At what point can you purchase the 24 points? 11 months? 7 months? How do you purchase them (online or calling MS)?

You can purchase them when making a reservation within the 7-month window. You have to call MS.

You can purchase up to 24 points one time per UY.

I just did this on the phone with MS yesterday, and it was quite easy. After it was confirmed that the reservation I wanted was available, someone from sales was conferenced in to sell me the points (5 in my case).

I was advised that I would not be allowed to purchase points again until my next use year, and that if I cancelled the reservation, the purchased points would behave as borrowed points and expire at the end of my current use year.

Overall, I was very pleased with the transaction. I am happy that Disney has allowed this option!

I agree it is a great option. I used it for the first time last year when I was 3 points short for a reservation I was making 7 months out. It takes a bit more time since MS cannot process the CC transaction themselves but it went smoothly.

One-Time-Use Vacation Points can be purchased as an alternative to borrowing. You must already be out of Current UY points (based on reservation check-in date), or the reservation you are making must use up your Current UY points in order to purchase One-Time-Use Vacation Points.
