Purchased resale. Got welcome email from disney. When can i start booking?

I purchased resale, and that closed a week or so ago. I got the welcome email from dvc, can access my account, but I am not yet showing any points.

When can I book resorts? do i have to have the points before booking?

Yes, you need the points in order to start booking.

If it's been a couple of days since you got the welcome email / were able to log in, you can try using the Chat to ask whether they can help you load your points. It can be hit or miss whether they will do it or not, as I think it does typically take a couple of days anyway.

Well good news is there probably isn’t any availability for a few months so you have time

Points will show up in a few more days - the longest it took for one of my resale contracts was 10 days, but that was during the shutdown. Once they post you can start booking.
