Hi There!

We will be bringing home a Newfoundland Puppy like this one in May:

We are stuck on names. I have suggested the following names which all got voted down. :confused3

Captain Morgan
Marley (after Bob Marley)
Stormy
Kieron
Denali
Logan
Lance

Help... any ideas that would fit a 140 pound black fuzz ball? :confused3

God, that's a cute puppy!

I'm probably not the person to ask, because it took us almost three months to come up with the name of our new puppy.

I do like the name Denali though! :thumbsup2

Marley!! I LOVE that name. We just got a new puppy and we wanted to name her that, but we already have a lab named Molly, and the names were too close.

That puppy is just adorable. I cant help ya with names though. Our poor puppy went 2 days with no name cause we couldn't decide. Heres a good website that might help you out though http://www.bowwow.com.au/

Hows about small furry pony?

Actually I have no clue but I like Denali though that might fit a Husky better. What about naming him after someone who explored Canada? Like Cartier? Or Jacques?

Or you could name him after the Viking explorers like Leif or Erik.

Well with a dog that is going to be that big, how about Tonka, as in rugged tough as a Tonka truck? Even though Newfies and St. Bernards have got to be the most gentlest dogs I have ever seen.

I had all these good male dog names when I was about to get my German Shepard puppy I ended up getting a girl and I could only think of 1 girl name, Sasha.

I am partial to the name Murphy as that is my dogs name :thumbsup2

My favorite is "Truman".

I also like "Spencer" and "Franklin".

My DSister named her golden "Askim", so whenever anyone asked what her dog's name was she would say "Askim" and you wouldn't believe how many people would then ask the dog what it's name was!! :lmao:

A couple of dog names that I've heard others use that I liked are Wicket (like the Ewok), Juneau and Diego.

Don't know if they are appropriate for such a big guy. You could always go with Goliath.

I like Spencer and Morgan. I thin k you just have to wait to meet her though!
We got our puppy almost four years ago. We had a few different names picked out. When we finally met him we gave him a completely different name!

How about 'Sam'. Not sure why. When I saw the pic I thought of 'Sam'.

How about Mickey?

From a person who has 2 dogs named Minnie and Tinkerbell :confused3

There's a Newfie at the dog park that I take our dog to. He's the sweetest, slobberiest dog, and he has the BEST name.

Hagrid! :thumbsup2

Of your choices, I like Denali.

As the "proud parent" of a 11 lb miniature dachshund female named Scooter, I'm not sure I've got much advice. I do like dog names that end in "ie" or "ey". (We call ours Scootie most of the time.)

How about Giant, Hercules, Titan, etc. that indicates his size? Or you could give him an ironic name such as well I can't think of it but a chihuahua I once met was named Hercules. You get the idea!

How about Walter....?
