Puppy name challenge

Ok fellow DISers.....I ned your help.

We are getting our new Samoyed puppy(male) in 2 wks. The breeder just let me know that the "theme" for this litter's names is....."gemstones"! (because the dad's name is Treasure Chest). I think it's a neat idea, but having trouble finding something.

I'm looking for a "registered name"(you know the long official name) and a call name(what you actually call the dog) to go with it. We tend to like ones that the call name has something to do with the registered name somehow (for instance: Just Do It "Nike" or Acadia Mist "Misty").

Want something "catchy" but I can't seem to come up with anything "boyish".

Girl ones could be:

Pearl of Wisdom
Diamonds are forever
etc.

Originally the theme was gonna be "summer" and that was bad enough although we had narrowed it to a couple(guess we'll save those for later )...but this is VERY difficult. I have looked through endless pedigrees for inspiration....not much luck!

FYI
Diamond Dust and Diamond in the Ruff have been used recently...not that I need another "Diamond" in the house as that is the name of our oldest dog.

Onyx is a jewel that would make a great dog name. How about "Kennelname Onyx Treasure" with callname Onyx. Does it have to be a gem? You could do something liek "Kennelname Pirate's Treasure" and have a good piratelike name as a callname.

What is the real name for "fools gold"? It might be kid of fun to do something with that and call him "Folly".

Good job guys....keep 'em coming! Not sure if anything but gemstones will do. I also had thought of the "treasure" names:

Treasure Trove
Treasure Island
Treasure Planet
Hidden Treasure
Sunken Treasure, etc.

I like Onyx Treasure.....now to convince DH

Great ideas everyone! I now have 2 other boards joining in on this....the battle of the boards!

Yes Onyx is black, but Sammies eyes are nearly black!

Would like to use Tourmaline somehow as it is found in Maine....call names are hard. I like the name "Jules", DH didn't - thought it sounded like a version of Julie.

I have started looking at famous gem names like:

Excelsior Diamond
Mackay Emerald "Mick" or "Mac"
Mandaly Ruby "Manny"
Logan Sapphire "Logan"

or these

Sapphire C Cruz "Cruz"
1 Carat Diamond "Ringo" or "Rocky"

When we get it figured out, I'll let everyone know and I'll post pictures as soon as I have them. We won't have him here 'til mid-Aug. though.
