It is just horrible. A lot of dogs will need new homes. I am seriously considering taking one but am not sure how our older dog (pure breed ESS adopted from shelter almost 2 years ago-now about 8 yrs old) will react.

I have a terrier mix puppy who could use another puppy to play with. I think I may look into adopting one.
This is why buying a puppy from a pet store is so frowned upon in posts here - that's the primary market for these puppy mills. If people don't buy from there, the mills won't be be financially lucrative and eventually fade away (hopefully). So far they haven't found many health problems with these pups as they've been examining them, but you never know later. I'm awfully tempted myself (think DC and Fairfax County animal shelters have gotten some of them) but really hate to foist one on my 13 year old rescue... she'd be less than pleased to deal with another hellion. Don't think she's forgiven us yet for bringing in the goofy lab puppy 7+ years ago
