Punta Cana - Caribe Princess

Has anyone stayed here. My DD and I are going for her 16th birthday and I was wondering what there was for excursions or any recommendations for this resorts or the islands itself. We will be there in September.

Please let us know what you think of the hotel when you get back. We are looking at going to Punta Cana next March for spring break. We've been to Puerto Vallarta, Riviera Maya, Cancun, Jamaica & Bahamas. We want to try something new, but need a good price with a family of 5.

I would absolutely not recommend our resort. The island itself is amazingly beautiful, the beaches wonderful and I would high recommend Punta Cana itself, though there were limited excursions or maybe just things that didn't appeal to us. We did the Macao Surf Camp and that was GREAT, you can find them both on trip adviser and facebook, our resort it self was nice, clean, cheap, the staff was very nice but the food was absolutely AWFUL and that's putting it mildly. A friend at work has stayed at both the Majestic which she LOVED the NH Real which she didn't. Another person is going down in November and staying at the Paradises.

We are also looking for a destination for 5...We are thinking of Punta Cana, but since you have been to other locations...Which do you recommend for 5(3boys 12 and under)?

It was AWESOME. All inclusive, including themed restaurants not just the buffet. We did pay extra for a snorkeling excursion but if we wanted to just snorkel right there on the beach that would have been free. Also free was pedal boats, kayaking and I think wind surfing. There were things for children to do but since my "baby" was 17 when we went we didn't make use of any of that. My entire family went. It was a gift from my parents. It was my parents, siblings, their significant others, my DH, myself and our two kids (I'm the only one with kids). My DH and I plan on going back for our 25th anniversary in a few years.

Thanks for the information. I just booked the Barcelo Punta cana for our family of 5 -- booked the Deluxe section after reading tripadvisor. It has a trapeze, rock climbing wall, etc....just what our kids wanted. It helps keep them busy, so we can relax. We are only going 6 days so I'm hoping it will be fine.

We were looking at doing the surf camp also -- glad to hear you had a great time there!! My husband and I are looking at joining the kids there - did you get up on the board ok??
