Pulled Pork....Does it matter if it is dark brown sugar or light?

Hi,
Making pulled pork in the crockpot....recipe calls for brown sugar. I usually use the dark...but I only have Light brown sugar.

Does it matter????? Should I go out and get the dark?

isn't it just more molasses? if you have some molasses, maybe add some to the pork.
 

All 3 suggestions work fine. In a pinch regular white sugar or karo syrup works too. LOL
Pulled pork recipes are very very forgiving in the ingredients you use.

good to know....light brown sugar i have. I've had a 3 day jammy fest since the snow here.....didn't want to take them off till tonight:rolleyes1....lol...

Bringing the pulled pork to my friends party tonight. Want it to be good....I always used dark brown sugar....didn't know if the light was OK....dont have any extra molasses to add though.
