Hi, I looking at booking a 1 bedroom villa at GFV but am unsure if the pull out single bed will be suitable for my 5’8 son to sleep on for 7 nights. Has anyone who is of average adult size any experience of these beds?
TIA x

He'll be just fine. The fold down is very comfortable (as is the sofa bed). It's large enough for someone who is 6 foot tall or less.

If all the pull down beds are the same size, I can help answer. I am 5'7" and slept on it for 5 night at VGC in November. We took it out of the pull down and just put the mattress on the floor, which made it easier because it wasn't tucked in the edges of that piece of furniture. It wasn't super long, but it didn't bother me much. You could put pillows at the foot of the bed if you needed more space, or one of the couch cushions I suppose, but I didn't need it.

I'm 6'2" and it seemed long enough for me when I stretched out on it the first day we checked in back in October. It was surprisingly long.

Are we talking Pull out bed, or the Day bed????

I don't think the 1 BR's have the murphy style day bed? Right? Just the Studio's I think. That bed should fit someone 5'7".

The pull out coach fit me no problem, & I'm 6-1 1/2....

VGF 1 and 2BR's have the murphy bed in the living area. But I think they are talking about the queen sleeper sofa.

Agh... didn't realize that.....So if the 2 br's are a lockoff, would it therefore have 2 murphys then???

Yes - a 2 bedroom lockoff at GFV will have 2 Murphy beds and will therefore sleep 10 (5 in the studio and 5 in the 1 bedroom portion)

sorry for confusion guys, I'm talking about the single bed that comes out of the wooden unit with dumbo drawings on it.Is that the Murphy?

That's the Murphy bed. I'm not certain how comfortable a 5'8" young man would be on it. DH is 6' and when laying on it if he had a pillow his feet would have been over the end. It's also relatively narrow so comfort might depend on what kind of a sleeper your son is.

He tosses and turns a lot in his sleep. His bed at home resembles a pile of laundry in the morning !

The bed it itself is VERY comfy..
however the housing unit it's in limits the length.. I would pull the mattress off and put it on the floor..
He should be fine then

That is what I was talking about at VGC (assuming all the murphy beds are the same size, which I think they are). We took it out of the wooden unit, and I was fine on it at 5'7". It is a little shorter than a traditional twin and maybe slightly narrower. Definitely take it out of the unit and put the mattress on the floor. I took a regular fitted sheet with me, which worked well because it had a flat sheet tucked under to make the bottom sheet, which I think would have come undone. I thought if I needed to add something at the end, it would be easier to have a twin fitted sheet with me to put it together more.

The murphy beds at VGF and Poly seemed very comfortable as well as the sleeper sofa, although it was just DH and I, so we didn't use them. Some hotel sofa beds are horrible and such thin mattresses, but these mattresses seemed quite plush!::yes::

My son is 13 and 6' too and he had no problems on the ones he slept on this summer
