Puerto Vallarta - where does DCL dock and how easy/hard to get to city centre?

My wife & I are currently looking at the excursions offered by DCL for Puerto Vallarta and none of them take our fancy, so we're thinking about just heading into the city centre for a wander around.

One of the excursions says that it is a 30-minute walk or 10-minute taxi ride so I was trying to find out some more information about this if anyone had any? Are there any other options like a hop-on/hop-off bus?
