I will be traveling with my family and there will be a small child with us. I had plan on leaving my grandson car seat in the car at San Pedro. In reading the description for the shore excursion for the Paradise Beach Adventure it states there is a 30 minute drive. This is a Disney sponsored shore excursions so I am not sure how small children are handled in the transport. I called Disney and they were no help, they had no idea. The question is how Disney and the vendor handle small children in transporting to Disney sponsored shore excursions? We are leaving next week any help would be great from fellow Disney lovers.

Hi.. We just returned and went to PV Paradise Beach excursion. It was a great trip and wonderful excursion. You will be transported in large buses to the venue and there is no opportunity to use a car seat on the bus. (No seat belts). It is very similar to any tour bus in the US or the Magical express bus used at Disney world.

How is the beach at this resort? I will have an 8 year old with me so wondering how good this excursion is for the two of us.

The beach was very nice. Lots of umbrellas and chairs for your usage on the beach. Close to the resort and the pool area which you can use. Since the beach is not private, you will have lots of vendors trying to sell you T-shirts, jewelry, hats, etc. But don't let that bother you as it is still a lovely area. They provide a nice buffet lunch and free drinks through out the day.

While we spent almost all our time at the pool, there were folks at the beach.

And we spent most of our time at the beach, felt very safe and comfortable there. We only visited the pool for the last 45 minutes of our visit, enough to get the salt water off and ride on one of the slides.

I know the general safety of Mexico has been asked many times but we're going there in March with 3 young girls so hope you don't mind if I ask.

How did you find the safety level of the Paradise Beach Adventure excursion?
Did you ever feel pushed into having to buy some trinkets?
Did you ever feel like you shouldn't venture to any corner of the resort?

Every week we hear about some bad stuff in Mexico but don't want to go to the extreme and just stay on the ship unless it's truly the wise thing to do.

Thanks

We just returned from the Christmas cruise, and heard from other guests that lounge chairs were not available at the resorts. Not sure which resort, but suggest that you either 'arrive early' to obtain a chair or clarify this with the excursion desk before embarking.

(also, it may not be as busy on the days you travel)

Hope the above helps, and wish you all the best in your travels.

We travelled by taxi to an outlying beach (so can't comment directly on the resorts).

Taxi drivers were courteous. Flat rate fee agreed to before departure.

As for trinkets on the beach - didn't buy any. A mere shake of our head, and they kept going.

Never felt threatened, or unsafe.

Further to my comment on the resort above, as I recall it's about $50 p.p. The 'disappointed' guests joked that it was a $50 per person ride to a hotel. Our 'beach' day was on the first sea day (Miramar Beach in Manzanillo).

We partook in Zip Lines and ATV rides on the remaining port days. Highly recommend both, but can't compare directly to the 'resort' excursion. My feeling is that I'd rather enjoy the peace and quiet on board than go to a resort .

In Puerto Vallarta, there's a mall with internet access directly across the street from the port (Starbuck's provides a code) and good 'ol Walmart if you're so inclined. Ship is awesome when everybody's gone, lol.

The resort was awesome. It's out of the way, I think part of the resort is a gated timeshare? We had zero safety concerns.

We parked ourselves by the slides when we arrived. We aren't "beach" people, though I did wander down there to put my feet in the ocean. We grabbed the loungers closest to the slide that you can see the picture below (NOTE: when bigger folks came down the slide, we did get a slight splash now and then).

As for vendors, I passed by 1-2 which had little spots set up between the pool and beach on my trip to the bar for my free beverages. I did stop to look, I tried my hand at haggling but didn't do well so I sent DH back for what I wanted. :) We weren't pestered once by the pool.

We booked this excursion again for our Spring Break trip at the beginning of April we had such a good time there.

We are doing the resort thing in PV as well but have decided to book on our own with Crown Paradise. It is cheaper and has a water park, with lots of slides. 6 hrs, all inclusive. Unlimited everything.

48.00 per adult
24 per child 6-12
under 6 is free.

There are tons of pics posted on trip advisor if anyone is interested.

Are you taking a taxi to the Crowne Paradise resort, do you know how far it is and average cost if you take a taxi?

Also, does anyone know if the Paradise Beach Adventure fills up quickly? I booked the excursion but not sure if I want to cancel or not. I want to see how we feel on the boat. If there's enough to do on the boat and the kids are happy, then we can skip the excursion (since we are signed up for another one in Cabo). However, if I keep my reservations then we won't be able to cancel once we decide on the ship.

Do you recall how cold the water was? I have one twin that wont care and another that gets cold easily, I might leave one on the ship with DW

I've never taken my son on a vehicle without a car seat. Was anyone worried about having their kids in the car for that long without a car seat? What if there's an accident? Seems unsafe.

I would love it if you could email that to me!! Can you send it through disboards or do you need my email address?
Also does anyone have a preference Crown Paradise or the Paradise Beach through Disney?

We rode in tour busses, not small vehicles, so we didn't feel there were any safety issues w/no car seats.

Well, my kids jumped right in. It felt a little chilly at first, but after I got in I didn't have any problems. We were there in February, it was about 80 degrees outside at the time, and we arrived early morning.
