Publix to GF Grocery Delivery Using Instacart Question

Hi Disfriends!

I have a trip coming up in November, and I plan to have groceries delivered to my villa at the GF for things like snacks and breakfast items. I have used Shipt before for previous WDW trips and had difficulty (they indicated they don't have many shoppers "certified" to deliver to WDW resorts, so it's hard to secure a shopper) and so I switched to Instacart last fall. I ordered from Publix via Instacart had no problems with the delivery, but it's been a year, and I can't quite remember how I placed my Publix order using the Instacart app. Specifically, how I selected the proper Publix to order from? When I logged into my Instacart account, I can see no mechanism to select the closest Publix to the GF. I have done some research and I see three different Publix stores that are about 20-25 minutes from the GF. Do I need to specify the specific store, or does Instacart automatically select the closest Publix for me? I just can't remember...

I specifically used Publix last fall because DH loves to have beer in our room, and I think other places might not accommodate both groceries and alcohol in the delivery. Any other things I need to know as I work to build my delivery list?

So I do it from the website on my laptop. I go into publix and choose delivery and it switches over to instacart, then I update my delivery address and I think it just picks the closest one? I've never consciously selected a store.

Know the zip code of your resort, enter it and the website can help you choose a store.

OK, good to know. I entered in the address for the Grand Floridian, so the Instacart app should "know" which Publix is closest and automatically attaches to that store?

And I may be wrong, but if alcohol is delivered, you have to be present to sign for it so they can check ID. I think there is one delivery service where this is waived, I can't remember what one. Something to consider!

@Mle8308 yes, exactly. I plan to be at GF when our groceries are delivered so that they can check my ID.

Actually the Instacart system does not pick the Publix store to use. The shopper that chooses your order will decide which physical store they want to use. Some will use the closed store to your location but other may chose a store that they are familiar with its layout to minimize the time to complete you shopping list.

No the system does not care which store the Instacart shopper will chose other than it will be a Pubix in this situation. You just need to enter the Zip Code, and the delivery address.

Or you could use Kroger Delivery and not have to worry about that choosing a store nonsense.
