public pool pricing

Last year, it was 50 cents per day for city residents and $2 for non residents.

$5.00 for anyone over 3 for city residents, $6.00 for non city residents.

We have a brand new aquatic center that just opened this year, it has two waterslides, diving board and a short slide that drops into the diving area, a kids zero-depth area, a small lazy river, and a small regular pool, plus a sand play area. It is $4 for adults, $3 for kids, and a season family pass is I think $155. Kids 2 and under are free. I think its reasonable, but most in my town, who were against building it in the first place, think its too expensive.

We don't have a public pool, but guest fees at the private pool club in town are $20 during the week, $25 on weekends (when we belonged, our family membership fee was $4000). The fees for private guest passes are pretty much the same for all of the pools in the area.

  • Age 2- Free
  • Under 48" $6.00
  • Over 48" $7.00
  • Age 55+ $6.00

We buy annual passes which are $200 for all three of us for the whole summer.

We don't have a town pool- but we can join the neighboring town's pool for $425 a season. Which is only memorial to labor and it doesn't open until noon everyday. We are early swimmers. So that doesn't work for us.
If we want to go for the day it's $45 for a family day pass. Also ridiculous and I only did that once.

We are hunting out one that's a little further away. It's supposed to be empty and cheaper.

We've paid different prices depending on where we've lived. Private club about 500.00 season for family. Public pool prices ranged from about 7.00 to 13.00. No public pool where we live now, have to join a country club or yacht club or swim at the athletic club (about 200.00 month membership).

Wow! Thanks for the responses. I guess my parent's pool is about the norm and my pool is super cheap!! I guess it makes me feel better to take my girls to our pool whenever they want!!!:rotfl:

Our town has a private pool, it is $300 to join plus $285 per year. We didn't join, I went by to check it out and it was small and dingy. We also have a lake that has a waterslide and rope swings, but it is $12.00 per adult and $10.00 per child :scared1: so we don't go there, either.

We have two town pools and a "spray ground". For residents, the family pass is 110.00 a summer. The daily rates are about 5.00 per person. There is a country club, but it is very pricey and the pool isn't as big (nor as interesting). Most folks go to the town pools---so the kids usually find a friend to play with.

Some of these prices are outrageous. We have a YMCA membership for our whole family and it's only $60 a month. And for that price u get all access to the gym with child watch and use of the pools. I don't know about your Y but our has an awesome play pool for the kids with a huge playset in the middle and waterslides.

ours is $108 for a family season pass OR
$5.50 per adult per day & 4.50 per child per day

Our county had 4 public pools (there are tons of other private pools by neighborhood, plus a lot of city pools) The county parks pools are 1 olympic-sized swimming pool & 3 wave pools. Prices are the same across the board: $5.00/adults and then it's tiered $4.00/$3.00/$1.00 based on age. 0-5 (which my kids are) is $1.00.

For our family of 4, it costs us $12, which isn't bad for our usual 3 hours that we last. :)

In our North Texas suburb our HOA has a pool and a park ($300 dues a year). We are also members of the municipal fitness center which boasts an indoor and outdoor pool, slides, spash areas for $550 a year for a family membership. We upgraded to the annual pass once my youngest turned 3 and charged a $9 daily entrance fee (per person). 19 visits pays for the pass and we can go swimming in the dead of winter!

We went last week w/ my 2 girls and we spent less than $7 for all of us. It's a nice pool. The kiddie pool isn't working but it doesn't bother us because we don't use it. Overall it is clean and well taken care of.

We go on base as well, it's free there. I don't even know if there are any other pools around here.

Put is it indoor or outdoor. Our county has fitness centers, but they have indoor pools. Our regional parks have outdoor pools, which we go to. Sorry, but indoor pools in the summertime don't cut it.

Our closest pool has a $600 initiation fee that you pay once if you buy passes every year. It you skip either one or two years you pay it again. The summer pass is $600 for the first two people/Child and then $300 extra per 3rd or 4th person. That's for one pool, one kiddie splash area and no slides ,or playgrounds.

The other pool about .25 miles away has a $975 initiation fee plus $90 month per family up to 4 guests. They have one slide and two pools and one kiddie pool

Its too pricey for me to even consider joining!

Now the one near my mom is $15-18 per person depending on age and $12 for 4 and under to get in PLUS a $450 yearly joining fee per family. That one has a pool, picnic area and a toddler sprinkler fountain area. Just crazy!

My neighborhood has a pool ($214 a qtr) that is open Memorial Day to Labor day. It's an average pool. A guest costs $4. Then there is the fitness center near by that is run by a cooperative of the county, near by city and University. It has an Olympic sized pool (50 meters by 25 yards) and a beach entry leisure pool. The entrance fee there is $7 until 4pm and then $8 after 4pm. To join this pool (fitness center) is over $500 a year for the first person. This includes the whole gym, though (spinning, pilates, weights, etc). Then there is a town near us that has a public waterpark. It's 48” & Above $14.95, Under 48” $10.95, 2 & Under FREE, After 3pm (Monday - Friday ONLY) $9.00. It's "eh" at best. I've only been there once.

Ours is $6.00 per day for residents (all ages), $9.00 non-resident; $4.00 for lap swimming and a variety of season passes depending on residency and family size (examples - $66 individual resident; $363 family of 4 non-resident)
