Hi

I have been looking at best ways to book a cruise. There are 5 of us. It looks like its best to book two standard rooms? Instead of the delux room that holds 5. Is this correct? It's all per person. We would not have enough points if we wanted to stay all together. It looks like we could save a lot of points doing it this way. If the girls in one room and the men in the other? Do they have connecting rooms? Can we have rooms together?

Many thanks.

We booked our DS's family into two connecting interior rooms for a 3 night DCL cruise next May. They're a 5 person family as well.

My DSis is coming and so are we, and we are all in the same general area of the ship, quite close to each other, all with interior rooms.

If you check out the cruise forum, you will see this question a lot.

There are connecting rooms, but if you kids are old enough you will have more room (no door swing) with adjacent rooms. We went with five of us the first time and six the second and in both cases had the 3 or 4 kids in one room and DW and I in the other. Works out swell.

We booked our family of five in 2 connecting cat 9 rooms using those developer points. I need the window or I will go bonkers lol. Nice thing is double bathrooms and less points and nice evening time for dh and I

I would say booking 2 connecting rooms is the best use of points OR cash! I'll tell you what your best bang for the buck (point) is - there are 2 sets of connecting cabins that people call "secret porthole" rooms on Deck 5. (DCL doesn't call them that.) They're actually obstructed view porthole rooms but DCL books them as a Cat. 10 (which is a deluxe inside stateroom - therefore they cost less). These rooms used to be Cat 8's so they have the split bath & porthole but at some point they were reclassified because of the obstructions. Anyway, the stateroom numbers are: 5522 & 5524 and 5522 & 5524. They usually book early, but I would still definitely check to see if they're still available for the date you have in mind unless you're set on having a balcony!:thumbsup2 (I can't post the link here but if you visit castawaycayclub dot com you can see pictures of them which is really helpful.)
