Greetings all! This is my first PTR, which hopefully will become a TR later. Reading trip reports are my favorite thing and SO helpful. I love… LoVe… LOVE planning and research!
Who Are We?:
Me, Librarian, age 29. I have intense social anxiety disorder
and this can present challenges in the park surrounded by people (note my desire for an invisibility cloak). I’ve learned from past trips to take my time and take breaks to replenish my energy. I’ve realized by now that expressing my issues with SAD can help others benefit from my point of view. This is my first SOLO trip so I’m both nervous about traveling alone and excited to do whatever I want

My DH of 10 years, ChemE, also 29. He’s a chemical engineer at a paper mill. He’s super smart, LOUD, and far more outgoing than I am! He’s totally jelly that I’m getting a bonus mini trip to see Diagon Alley for the first time.
We are completely geeky and adore all things Harry Potter, Marvel Comics, and Doctor Who (just to name a few). This will be trip #6 for me to Orlando.
Here we are on our honeymoon 3 years ago:
What: A trip to the US/IOA for Diagon Alley of course!
Where: Offsite :/ Staying at the Hilton Orlando where ALA booked me. I would have moved over to RPR but the 2-night cost was too expensive for this little trip. I will desperately miss the EE and all the convenience of being onsite.
When: June 23-27, 2016 – I have always gone to Orlando during the winter off season when I had the choice. Smaller crowds, cheaper prices, cooler weather… soooo not looking forward to the crowds and humidity! I’ve been twice during the summer to Orlando and have refreshed my knowledge on all things “busy season” related to better enjoy my vacation.
Why: I’m attending workshops for the ALA (American Library Association) conference so of course I extended my stay for a mini WWoHP trip. Also, we’ve been discussing starting a family soon, and on my pre-baby bucket list is to squeeze in as many thrill rides as possible!!!
How: 2 day park to park passes with unlimited express
I can’t believe I’m leaving TOMORROW!!!
