PTR for our 'Magic'al Adventure Oct, '11

CONGRATULATIONS!:cool1::woohoo::banana:
The table looks great, of course they were impressed.

Well, I tried!!! 2 WEEKS from today and we'll be boarding! Can I just say this excitement is RIDICULOUS! :rotfl2::dance3::yay:

It's a good thing, I haven't much accomplished except 'cruise' stuff!:rotfl:

Thanks for taking the time to post, can't wait to read your TR! :surfweb:
No doubt you are going to have a FANTASTIC cruise, enjoy the time with your family!!

No doubt you are going to have a FANTASTIC cruise, enjoy the time with your family!!

Thanks for reading! It has been fun, and we still have things to do!

I cancelled our CC excursion today...and really feel good about it!:thumbsup2 Found out that the snorkeling (not the one on the boat), the tube rentals, and the bike rentals are very seldom sold out..(this was mentioned to me about the Magic though, so not sure about the Dream and the crowds on that one). And the reason I cancelled? Some in our family just aren't sure they want to snorkel, or whether they want to bike or tube or do it all. This way, we can just play it by ear...

And got out 5 carry-ons and 3 large suitcases...OH MY WORD!!! Can I just say it looks like we're staying for a month! And then the inlaws are taking 2carry-ons and 2 checked. Hope the rental will fit us all! Could get REALLY interesting..:confused3

And unless I forget...I've got to mail out my boxes this week...:woohoo: Makes it seem soo real! Just hope they get them (and using UPS, since they give a delivery confirmation, tracking and $100 insurance):woohoo:And since USPS ruined the last couple of pkgs I received...

Less than 2 weeks and we head out..:banana:

May each of you have pixiedust: this week! :)

We're :dance3: down here!

13 DAYS!!!

Who can sleep now? Just too much to do! I wonder if other newbies are like this? I wonder if veterans of many cruises are like this? Am I pitiful? It has been a joy, a diversion (isn't there one of those on the ship?), a blessing to look forward to all year. And HERE we are, 13 days to go~

I'm sure I'll forget something, but as long as it's not important papers, there will be NO stressing!

Hoping dd's costume comes in on time, and decided to chill about the adults' costumes...we'll look piratey some way!

And I'm sure we'll find something to do today for the cruise...I mean, geesh...we've only got 13 DAYS!!!

Wish all our friends and family could come...or that everyone could be as excited as us!:dance3::yay::woohoo:

Yes I am just as excited as you are if you couldn't tell.:lmao: Don't worry about looking piratey, if that is a word? I am sure you will look great. Not to give anything away but I have a couple pirate things in my FE bags. I know they said that you get bandana's at that nights dinner too. At least they did? We leave in 11 days!!:cool1:

11 Days!!! This excitement is groWING and GROWING!!!! Got to get a few more things done, and then I can concentrate on packing! Right now, I'm spending my time getting the house ready for the sitter. Isn't that one ridiculous?!!!:rotfl:

One thing led to another. "If you give a mouse a cookie" has been my theme...:rotfl: Started organizing my desk drawers which led to the laundry room utensil drawer, which led to taking towels to my bathroom, which led me to organize all my drawers (10), 4 cabinets, which led me back to the kitchen to organize my medicine cabinet since I had meds to put back in there, and which led me to organize my lazy susans. I've done so much organizing, and she may not even be here that much! But it was good motivation! Now to clean out the fridge, vacuum, windex, swiffer, leave notes, and numbers and we'll be through! THEN, I can really start my packing!:rotfl:

" Hi ho, hi ho, it's off to work I go"...this weeks theme...:rotfl:

Hi There:wave2:
Just caught up with your PTR - can't believe you are almost on your way :cool1:!!! I'm looking forward to hearing about your sideways rooms, as we also have 2 of these reserved on the Magic for next summer (5509 and 5513). I also wanted to be "aft" but oh well, "forward" is what was available/best options so we'll have to burn our calories on the way to the endless ice-cream machine!!:rotfl:
Please take notes so you can do a ..... TRIP REPORT too!!
and have a great great magical time:cloud9:

 Hey there! So glad you have the sideways rooms too! From what I've heard, we'll be pleased! I'll try to take plenty of pics too to give you a better vision! We have 6003, 6007, 6011 all forward, so i'll report back how f-a-a-a-a-r that is from everything..:rotfl: (or if we're just imagining it...)

I'll try to be as good about taking notes for my trip report...hopefully it'll be a fun report filled with great memories (of course, with our family there's always an adventure to be found, so we'll seepopcorn::). And thanks for hanging in here with me, it has made for a great year, counting down the days and helping to pass the time!

10 DAYS until we fly out!:dance3::dance3::dance3:

ps...just a little side note...noticed your triplets! Love that! My sister had triplets too and they are alot of work, fun, and wonderful to watch grow up! Enjoy every second!

10 DAYS OUT!!!!

:ssst: and did I even say "there's always an adventure to be found"..someone shut my mouth! We had our little adventure yesterday (so hopefullly, we're done! Dh decides he's going scootering (is that a word? :confused3)with 12 dd. Goes down a hill, without a helmet I might add, the scooter is a trickster, so turns where dh's body does'nt...I get a call "Honey, I'm hurt"...and we head to the ER. Thankfully? He's fine this morning, feels like a mack truck hit him, his back and head still hurt, but he'll be fine! No more scooters!

And on another note....Started and finished 12dd's suitcase yesterday. For you other newbies like myself? I think this was one of the smartest things I've done. I put in/took out, she tried on, decided daily outfits and we fit it all in one carry on and 1/2 of a check in bag. So with 5 people in our immediate family, this really helps me to see if we're gonna be able to do 5 carry ons and 3 checked. We shall see....popcorn::

~ GOT to ship my Fe's tomorrow...This is one I would HATE to forget! Those 3 boxes have been in my dining room for two months now..so I gotta get that done!

So, 10 days out, have 4 more adults to get started, still checking our flights, our hotel ressies just to make sure things stay the same, and trying to get this home ready for it's new guest. And I might add, it'll be great when we get back home, since it'll be time to start decorating for Christmas soon! Always something great to look forward too!:thumbsup2

Have a great day everyone...Hope your trips are coming along as nicely as ours has!!!

Here it is.............:rolleyes1

We are single digits!!!!:woohoo::banana::dance3::woohoo: And this chik is almost ready!!!

Things to do today:

Call DCL warehouse first thing. Just to make sure they don't have a problem with 'glow sticks'. As I was sealing everything and looking at directions, it DOES say, "no chemicals"...surely my little ole glow sticks won't be considered chemicals?:confused3 Dh said he sure would call on the chance those dogs might want a sniff!

MAIL those boxes as soon as I talk to DCL!

Start our suitcases to see what the damage is..:rolleyes1 (could be more than interesting). When I packed 12dd's we actually came up with a system...If she borrows from the suitcase before the trip...she puts a sticky note on the suitcase to get it back..I told her it was like "borrowing from Peter to pay Paul"...:goodvibes But you know what? It already worked! And then when I wash 'said item', she knows to put it back in the suitcase! :thumbsup2Worked for us!

Do a flight/hotel check just to make sure..meant to do that one yesterday.

Make my lists (yes, lists really keep me organized) for things to finish up this week and then for next week. And THIS is why we need a vacation..No more lists!:rolleyes1 Although, I do have a little list while on the ship for things I want to see and do...:rotfl:

Got dd's pirate costume in!! So stinkin' cute!!! Now, if I could just find something to do with these T's that we have...

Oh well, on with another busy day. Praying for my dh as he's still not feeling 'right' after his fall. Silly boy, scooters are for kids!:goodvibes

Enjoy your planning...I have had a ball!!!:yay::yay::yay:

8!!! 8 Days today!!! This is getting bad! The sleeplessness has already started, mind's racing, find myself smiling for no apparent reason?:confused3 It's BAD!:)

~ Yesterday: Called DCL Warehouse...those guys are great! Didn't know even what glow sticks were, but manager told me to 'send them on'! They said they don't even open the boxes anyway! :woohoo:

~ Mailed those boxes!!! Whew! And caught the UPS girl making a BIG mistake on the labels, she actually had to tear them off and start over. So if you should decide to mail anything, MAKE sure they follow YOUR directions! DCL wants your name and stateroom on each box, and she just assumed that it was the same for all 3 boxes (though I had it listed w/ differing names and numbers). Can't be, because you're only allowed 1 box per cabin, so it needs to read whoever is in that cabin and that number! But we fixed it, and mailed all three for a cheap price of $38. Wasn't that good?;) And I'm already tracking it..my boxes will get to the excitement before I do...:rotfl:

~Dh's fall was a tad more serious than we thought, but pixiedust: for us, after his doc visit today, we'll find out. At least it didn't hospitalize him!

~Got our NEW Disney Visa Reward Card...loaded! :woohoo: And can I just tell you those folks are great! When I ordered it, she told me, you'll get it on or around the 29th..I did! And when I called to put my dollars on my rewards card, she asked why we paid in full instead of doing the 0% interest. I told her that I called DVisa and they told me it had to be with Disney Destinations. WRONG! So, we paid in full early on because we were told since we used a TA we couldn't do it. So the sweet rep at Visa, said "Nope, that's wrong, I'm sorry, and let me give you at least $25! pixiedust: Whoo Hoo! How sweet!

~Thinking about all the last minute 'electronic' stuff now..:scared1: If you've read up until now, you've prob figured out, this is NOT me..:rotfl2: So, I'm thinking phone chargers (but you can't use your phone on the ship right?), camcorder battery charger, batteries for the camera, sd cards loaded, that plug in thingy (you know, the thing you plug in extra plugs into...haha..mind is shot!), car phone charger..(for the rental car?)..is that all? Seems like a lot to me...and Nope, not taking this computer. If we email, it'll be from the internet cafe. And I assume most people pack all this stuff in your checked in luggage?

~ See? 8 Days out, we're excited..but much fun stuff to do!

Happy Planning everyone! We're excited about the flying, rental, hotel, seeing the port, seeing the Magic, getting inside the port, well...you get my drift!

It's bad!:dance3::yay::banana::dance3:

I looked back to see how far out you were when you started your PTR and you were 10 months out, just like we are now, and see now you are getting your final packing done, so I guess that 1. it's not too early to start a PTR:cool1:! and 2. 10 months is really going to pass and we are really going to make it to our cruise next year!!:woohoo:
Thanks for "previewing" the sideways rooms for us!
How old are your sister's triplets?:dance3: It was crazy in those early years, now it's just a family of 4 teenagers and all that goes with that :scared1:!!

Hold onto your horses, you're goin' on a CRUISE next week!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you use regular batteries for your camera or does it have a rechargeable battery? Ours is rechargeable so I have a charger that plugs in for that. I would take the phone charger just so you can charge it and it will be ready when you are in an area to use it even if it is just FL. I think some ports you can get a call out but I may be wrong on that?:confused3

Only 8 more days and we will be there!!:cool1:

It is going to pass by fast! And perhaps I started this too early:confused3 but it was more for us (dd and myself) to start this first time journey, and now, looking back? It was way fun, made the almost year fly by, and when times got rough with normal everyday trials? Gave us a GREAT reprieve to envision our cruise ahead!

My sisters triplets are now 19 years old. Think brady bunch. 3 girls, hoping to finish up the family with one son. Got 3 boys instead. So funny! And nope, no drugs, not in the family, just one of those chances. But they are a sweet family! Times like this, I wish we could take them all with us!:goodvibes
And don't blink! Those teenage years fly by too! Ours are 24 and 23 and I can't believe they're professionals now..:sad2: They grow up too fast!

And YAY!!! There are some who'd love to 'squish' my excitement..but sorry...not gonna happen!!!"]

yeah, i'm actually wondering about a power strip for this time:confused3

Cause this time I got a whole bunch of rechargeables for my Cochlear Implant. recharge the batteries(almost every night) recharge the remote(once a week) so that is 2 sets of plugs I am bringing with me. Last time all my CI batteries were disposables and no remote. rechargeables make my life cheaper in the long run but bulkier in the everyday run:rotfl2:

:worship: Thank you, thank you, thank you! For the life of me, I could NOT remember the name of that thing! And oh my!:scared1: I admire you that you can handle all that! You have a remote for your implant? That is amazing! But  can't even imagine all that to pack now!

And aren't you off for 3 days?:woohoo::woohoo: How great! Now you'll have time for Maureen and Rich to get packed! Hope it's a fun, weekend getting ready to ride on down the road!!! Y'all leave Wed? or Thurs? Bet you've got a ton to do with the car, with luggage, with little Onslow! You've got to be tired from Target, and Avon, and all the prep and organizing you did for this cruise!

And in case I forget...THANKS for doing a great job with everything for our meet! I sure couldn't have done it! GREAT JOB!:thumbsup2

One question since "you guys" seem to be off on your cruise soon so you have all the answers:rolleyes:! How many months before your cruise did your group start talking about FEs?? Just wonderin'!

Disneychick, that's a great triplet story in your family! Imagine, your fourth being your 4-5-6th! And people think we have a busy family, "only 4"!

Thanks again for all your reporting, and looking forward to sharing more after you come back! (Maybe it will help smoothe over the post-cruise process?)

I'm not sure on this one?:confused3 I do know I signed up to join the FE in March, and they definitely had a group by then! I tossed it back and forth at first, whether I wanted to get involved. Glad I did now!:thumbsup2

And we'll see after the cruise...popcorn:: Does anything but rebooking help the post-cruise process? Time will tell!:goodvibes
