PTR-Cheating on Mickey w/Harry!...OMG! Only a month to go!

Love the outfit with the pigtails! Did anyone else dress up? Your table of friends looked fairly regular.

And what is with that date? Did Disney plan it for a week earlier and couldn't even manage a p%$$ up in the bar...even with $33 dollars left in the till???
:sad2:

Oh wait! I think I figured it out.....no one told the imported beer that they needed to make it a week before! :rotfl:

So if you don't mind telling me but what was the ticket price for something like this.... you can PM me if you want.

But David and I were very surprised to see an all inclusive thing like this... But this is so something up our alley...

Gosh, what a tease :rolleyes1

;)

ETA: Why was the date wrong on the mug? Was the event originally supposed to be on that date?
ETA-2: ^Not that it even matters really, because there's beer in that mug which makes it all better!

 I just checked in at the VGC our room isn't ready yet, so we're going to Southcoast plaza to the Disney store to get Ed the hyena since we got other two last pj. Once I get into the room the pics are uploaded to PB.

No idea why the date is wrong! They knew back in July what the date was, cuz I reserved my room back then.

I am confused by your post. :confused3 When you say my friends look regular, do you mean not dressed up? And I don't understand the second paragraph at all. Perhaps it is an Auusie colloquial phrase?

The price was $150 pp. That's why I jumped onto your TRs! You and David travel and party like Fean and I like to! I'll also PM you.

Ooooh.....translation required!

Yes...your friends all look like they are in their regular clothes, not dressed up like you for Oktoberfest.

Second part of the paragraph is probably Aussie colloquial. Organising a drunken night at a pub in Australia is as easy as putting money on the register. So, it's assumed that people know getting drunk is as easy as go to the bar for unlimited drinks. For Aussies, dead or drunk simple.

To say that you can't even organise a p%$$ up in a bar even if you left money in the till (or register) means that you are very disorganised and possibly even stoopid! :rotfl:

OK! Now I understand! However, you'll see later that Suzie (gal on the left in back, raided her Middle School Costume Department (she is a band teacher) and did dress up accordingly. In fact she is the one who gave me the idea to dress up clothes that I already owned. The gent sitting next to me does own an authentic one of those Bavarian hats, but he didn't wear it.

So I'm sitting here looking at Paradise Pier from my room on the DIS! :confused3 How silly is that? Actually I'm sort of waiting for Hawleys to show up before we head over the to Bar at the DLH for dinner. I know "bar for dinner?" but they have better appetizers than the CS restaurant next door.

She just texted me that they're on their way to the lobby so see you all after dinner!

Good thing we turned a new page! That last one was getting very clogged up with pictures!

So after some beer and pretzels we decided to attack the Dinner Buffet.

Here is Chef Marcel who is the mastermind behind all this. Evidently his first apprenticeship as a chef was under an authentic German Chef. Even though he is a Frenchman through and through his skills at German Food are exceptional

DSCN2711.jpg

Now everyone’s German experiences are different, one guy in our party refused to eat any vegetables because he says on his trip to Germany, he never saw any! But for those of you who might have seen some or like veggies here are a few.

Well maybe not veggies, but one of the best starters, I only had one, but Fran said she got four on all three times she visited the buffet.

DSCN2709.jpg

Again not a veggie, but definitely a starter

DSCN2708.jpg

OK here is a veggie

DSCN2707.jpg

OK not so much a veggie

DSCN2706.jpg

OK now we’re on a roll…..Cole Slaw

DSCN2705.jpg

Carrot Salad

I didn’t take any of these though I heard they were very good, but I could have carrots and mashed potatoes anytime.

Beef Rouladen, these were amazing! Beef and Bacon!

DSCN2694.jpg

Now this is spaetzle and on this side they have the Rouladen, but as I found out, on the other side they had Wienerschnitzel

DSCN2693.jpg

These Pork Knuckles were amazing!

DSCN2691.jpg

DSCN2692.jpg

Fish and broccoli

DSCN2689.jpg

Something I never got to…..:sad2:

Here is my first plate

DSCN2716.jpg

And Fran’s First plate

DSCN2720.jpg

I got this plate

DSCN2722.jpg

And then they tell us that we have the Matterhorn from 8 to 9 instead of 9 to 10.…so we abandoned our plates and ran off to the Matterhorn. We shot this pic on our way.

DSCN2724.jpg

These were the four “partners in crime” and Suzie (the other gal) was hellbent on riding 10 times in a row.

DSCN2726.jpg

I did six rides, and the 2nd & 3rd were back to back, we didn’t have to get off the ride. But the other’s we had people waiting so they had us get off and back on. When I gave up (after six times) they would have let us go again without reboarding, but I was too tired!

The rest of the evening to come! But we are going to enjoy DLR tomorrow!

Alison, you and Fran must have had a wonderful time...

first let me say, I love pig, mostly bacon, but all of the pig is great... Beef, my second favorite protein... then to pound it out, add flour and fry it up crisp, what could be better.

Potatoes, have to be the best ever carb in the world, you can do anything with it, even fry it up and add sour cream on top,,,, Yummy... you can mix it with mayo, and bacon and have a warm salad. :woohoo:

and for a second veggie, I love I mean LOVE beets!

This meal was made for me.... I am so jealous....

and then to add beer with it......:littleangel:

Look at all that amazing food!

I've never tried one thing that you showed (:sad2:well aside from the mashed potatoes and carrots) but I'd love to try any of this sometime for the experience. I'm not sure why i've never had German food. :confused3

Hope your having fun today!! :yay::dance3:

When we got on the Matterhorn, the CM's were asking, "What are they giving you over there?" Everyone replied, "Pork, pork and more pork!" :lmao:

The $150 was plus tax and tip making it about $200. However it also included park hoppers for the day as well. So all the food, beer and park passes. Considering it's about $80 for the passes, not so bad a deal!

Look at all that amazing food!

We're just getting ready to go into the parks. German food is not all that common in California. We have a few favorite places in So Cal. There was a great one near Pismo Beach, but it closed down. I think this is best German food that we get now, but there are a few good places in Orange County that we go during the year.

OK off to ride the rides and a scavenger hunt!

Looks like you're having an awesome time. I don't know if I could handle 6 rides on the Matterhorn in a row without needing traction afterwards, or at least a very good massage.

Our Harvest Festival is this weekend. DH was very sad that the voles ate the bottom out of his giant pumpkin again this year. Let hope he has better luck next year.

I guess I better go and start looking for our tickets for Keith Urban tomorrow night. I bought them last December so I hope they're where I think I put them.

I grew up in a small German town in Texas, so I have had it all my life... My DH also graduated from High School in Germany...

So I have eaten most of the common foods, but am always looking for more...

WOW! Look at all that food. I'm jealous.

Your friend is right.....I had 2 weeks in Germany and I don't think I saw a single vegetable in all that time except for potato.

And I can see that Suzie dressed up too. :thumbsup2

Sounds like an excellent night.....multiple rides on Matterhorn, bacon, pork, beef, beer, pretzels....

So we returned from our trips on the Matterhorn to the band playing the Chicken Dance, so we all got up and danced.

DSCN2719.jpg

We also found our plates cold. Duh! So I went back and got another one! :lmao:

DSCN2729.jpg

However, my pace of eating was slowing down. I decided I better hit the desserts before I was completely stuffed.

Coffee Station

DSCN2682.jpg

This was my plate of dessert

DSCN2730.jpg

Accompanied by a mug of hot chocolate. They must have made this with Godiva Chocolate and Whipping Cream! It was INSANELY good!

DSCN2754.jpg

Traditionally for this event they always make too much food. Last year they were serving off the leftovers “redressed” at the lunch buffet because they made so much. Fran put ziplock baggies in her pocket and was grabbing Wienerschnitzel and putting it in the baggie. Then the servers started to bring out togo packages. We thought they might want us to go through the effort to put it on a plate before putting in the container, but Fran asked the Chef. He said to just bring the containers up to the buffet and fill ‘em up! They must have had tons extra! We must have taken home 3 lbs of Wienerschnitzel and a pound of sausages, plus Rouladen and pork loin! Not to mention two containers of dessert. We froze the meat before we left yesterday, and brought the dessert with us.

Once we had eaten everything we could the band started with “interactive” performances. They sang a yodeling song and came out in the audience and made us yodel into the microphone. I told him that I play the saxophone because I can’t sing. He didn’t let me off, so I yodeled badly. Then John and Suzie did a tag team yodel and sounded great!

DSCN2739.jpg

DSCN2738.jpg

A little later (I think after yet another rendition of the Chicken Dance) the band played a song which featured the drummer. He came out into the audience and did a “stomp” style performance playing on anything in front of him.

DSCN2741.jpg

Climbing over tables….

DSCN2742.jpg

And literally playing the spoons!

DSCN2744.jpg

One of the gals in our party, really wanted some extra mugs and asked if she could get them cause she was “cute”. Fran pointed her in the direction and lo and behold she comes back with two more mugs, so Fran was off to try the same thing and she came back with 2 more mugs! Then she found an abandoned mug on the table next to us, so we ended up with FIVE mugs? What am I going to do with all of these???? My Disney glassware cabinet is full! They give you souvenir glassware from many different events, (NYE, Valentines, etc).

By 11PM the crowd had thinned out and security started to come in to throw us out of the place. So we began to leave.

DSCN2751.jpg

Normally when the park is closed they like to escort us out of the park so we don’t just go wandering around, but on this occasion we had no guide. However, we were good little park goers and went directly to the exit, but not without taking some pictures.

DSCN2755.jpg

Walt’s Apartment Halloween style

DSCN2756.jpg

They were preparing for Mickey’s Halloween Party and so there were some scary effects on the buildings.

DSCN2758.jpg

DSCN2759.jpg

So after that we headed out back to the hotel. Fran was asleep within moments of her head hitting the pillow. I took a Jacuzzi tub and crawled into bed. That king bed sure feels good! :thumbsup2

Next morning we check out, go home and do some chores along with repacking to come back the next day!

See you then!

Alison, the desserts look awesome, I would have been tempted to go for those earlier....

Thanks so much for the post and the description, it was all beautiful and wonderful...

I love Black Forest Cake. Can you ship me a slice or the whole cake? :lmao:

That's a lot of food leftover. Glad you got some so it didn't go to waste.

Thanks for sharing the insane amount of food and fun.

Last couple years I was done after three, but when you have someone who is trying for 10, it's a little easier with encouragement. I can't believe John and Suzie did 10. We went to a mall the next day and I got 10 minutes in one of those massage chairs.

Hope you find those tickets!!!!!!!

I first had German food when I traveled there in college, I loved the schnitzels and the sausages, and the spatzle.....Pretty much everything! :rolleyes1

Yeah, they said that when they were there, they got tired of meat they ordered a vegetarian pizza that had pepperoni on it! :lmao:
