PTR-Cheating on Mickey w/Harry!...OMG! Only a month to go!

I'll PM you. ;)

The storms let up sometime last night, most of the day it's been nice, but we had one downpour, and the radar map that I have on my phone shows another storm just off the coast. I'm in for the night and we will probably get hammered. (with rain that is :rotfl2:)

I didn't think you were supposed to paint when it's raining because it's more humid, but what do I know. :confused3

Where exactly are you? I think I remember you saying Sacramento or was it just Sacramento area. I could drive up the 99 and have DISmeets all along the way with followers on my PTR! :lmao:

I live in sacramento right off the 5 freeway. Bye the way are you out of town? Your time is off by 2 hours.

Hi usnuzuloose from another NorCal that's tired of the rain. Yay, we finally got a break today.

Love the 99 DISmeet tour!

Our Nov WDW/Dream cruise trip has changed a bit. Our 6 yr old niece decided the 4 night cruise wasn't long enough so now we've added the 3 night before it and are skipping most of the WDW parks. Can you tell how much she loved her first cruise? I think we'll still get the MNSSHP in on Nov 1st if they have one.

I love to cruise we have one coming up in oct out of Long Beach. We are all pretty close.

I'm in Long Beach, Southern California, do you mean my time is off because of my weather comments and when the storms left us or are my update times screwy on the DIS?

It was time I saw one post and it said 12:44 I looked at my time and it said 10:44 I thought it was strange.

I think the boards are on Mountain Time which is 2 hours off from PST.

Boy have we ever been hammered by rain for 2 days straight. We would like to see your living room when you are done. Have fun doing it.

Oh man, we got slammed with rain last night!!! My brother said earlier in the day (he owns a landscape mainten. company) that it even started hailing earlier! Ugh, looks like i'll never be able to start my veg garden any time soon..

But here's some pics!

This is our entryway that we painted also...eek it looks really dark but the color will show in my next pics

My favorite part of my sitting room...the wine cabinet! :lmao: Alison you'll like that!! :thumbsup2 We got it in Morro Bay at an antique furniture shop for $300 because there is some chips in the paint, but it's beautiful.

Please don't mind the hubby...he's a gamer and you know he means business when he's wearing his headset! :rotfl:

IMG_2204.jpg

Everyone has explained the color as an old italian villa color :confused3 so i'll go with it! We acutally had to make our own color, because the standard paint that we bought ended up being really pink on our walls, so we went back and added more black and red (or it might have been white) to make it look this color which we really love!

No we just need to paint the kitchen..not sure what though.. :confused3

You have a beautiful house! That is a very pretty wine cabinet. I love the color you picked, everything looks really nice.

Our house is so cluttered. Ugh! I won't even invite people over any more. :sad2: I'm not trying to one up you, this is my wine cabinet.

DSCN0267.jpg

It's climate controlled, and has about 300 bottles in it. I have bottles in there that won't come out again until 2020. It requires a database to keep track of all the bottles in there, when they mature. I need a life!

Wow! You DEFINITELY one up'd me!! :rotfl2: :rotfl: And that's okay!

That is pretty much the most AWESOMEST thing i've seen!!!! Too bad you couldn't up it up and show the world your wine collection! :thumbsup2

I knew you loved wine, but WHOA!

And as for the bolded, no you don't need a life...you need ME to comeover and partake with you!!

It's two bottles deep. I don't know if you can tell that from the picture. If there is a bottle in the front row then there is one behind it. Everything in the front is "drink before 2013" and everything in the back is "drink between now and 2020". It's a Vinotemp. We ordered the very base model, it wasn't even stained when it was delivered. It has a capacity of about 500 bottles, but as I'm not getting any younger, I'll need to start paring it down in about 10 years. I figure by then I really shouldn't be acquiring wines that have to age for 15-20 years... :lmao:

I love your decor. Nice paint job. What huge wine cabinet.

So by the look of your house, I'm guessing it's an older home as opposed to one of those new tract homes out in the outskirts of the city. They don't make arches like that or inset bookcases like you have. Those have so much character!

These are my hubby's words, not mine.."We're never going to show you anything of ours again!!!" :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao:

No, but really, that is one IMPRESSIVE wine cabinet! I've never seen anything like that before and i'm sure you have some FANTASTIC bottles in there!!!

Dan, also wants to say that it's "pretty freakin cool"!

Do you think you have a bottle every 2 or 3 nights? Or are these just for special occasion??

Thank you! The decor in the living room, unfortunately, is TERRIBLE! I need to make a trip to hobby lobby/ home goods pronto! I was waiting to buy the things that we need until after we painted!!

Actually, it's brand new! Well, built in 2010! And we are kinda on the outskirts...I know you're somewhat familiar with tulare, but if you were to take Tulare Ave east, you would go about less than a mile past Mooney blvd and we're right back there...we're considered "country" to people in town, but we're so super close to everything!

I didn't show you the room behind me but what it is, is half sitting room and half formal dining room...it's been sitting in this neighborhood for over a year, because no one could figure out what to do with the sitting room :confused3 Had we had not bought the house, they were going to come in and knock down the wall that separates the sitting room from the living room so people would buy it! :confused3

We love it, but it needs TONS of furniture!! It's a 4/2, so currently two bedrooms are completely empty with one being an office and one our master...we plan on getting a formal dining set with our tax return money!

Regardless of anything you might have that I would love to see and I think you have a much nicer house than we do! We live like hoarders, piles of boxes everywhere, and yes we have lots of cool stuff, but we can't enjoy it because it's keeping us from walking around our house. :sad2: That's Frans stuff. My stuff is pretty confined, the wine cabinet, my jewelery drawer and my clothes closets, then there's the kitchen those things are well organized. Her stuff, she keeps getting things in the mail and tells me to put the them somewhere...we just started to dig out somewhere with the cleaning lady on Saturday, we got 8 boxes packed up and can walk 3 feet into one of our other rooms (that was just 1/4 to 1/3 of the jackets she has). :lmao: The cleaning lady comes back tomorrow so that we can dig another foot or two!

So with respect to our wine...normally I like to sip white wine (which I usually drink the grocery store $2 wine, but when I have a red wine I go to the what I call the "drink now" section. These are wines that I have removed from my Wine Cellar Map and I'm no longer keeping track of. This is the "drink now section"

DSCN0273.jpg

What "Drink Now" means that it is a wine that I could have on any night of the week if it goes with my dinner. So when I cook a steak, ribs, red pasta or who knows what else I go to this area to pick my wine. It is divided that the from left to right the first few colums are various Table Wines that I can not really classify their varietal. The next colums contain Merlot and Cabernet, then there are a few rows of Zinfandel, followed by about 3-4 rows of Pinot Noir. I choose not to Cellar this Varietal, but perhaps I might change this idea. Then comes Syrah. For some reason I seem to get a lot of Syrah's through my wine clubs. I think because I'm in the Zaca Mesa Club and they are partial to the French Rhone Varietals.. I think in my old age demise this will be the first wine club that goes even though I do enjoy their wines....I just replenshed it on Saturday so in a month or two I'll take bottle out of of the cabinet to replenish it.

I think I answered the frequency of when when we have a bottle, but maybe when you all come down we should get together for dinner and we'll bring the wine! I love going to restaurants with friends or family and we can bring a great bottle of wine, if you read my WDW dining report we did that and it was totally cool ! We have so much better wine than most restaurants in our cellar it's great!

Wow I'm getting tired and being vague, but we should eventually catch up in person and I would be happy to provide the wine wherever we meet. We'll work this out later!

I didn't address this comment last night so I'm editing (Old Fogies, I feel like Kimmar!) What a nice NEW house, most look so generic inside, but yours is really great! Good luck furnishing your other two rooms. We need more rooms to put everything! Today we're goin to be boxing up more stuff for storage, so I'll be in and out for a while! TTFN!

You guys don't want to come to my house, but how about this? With all my extra points I'll get a Grand Villa at the Grand Californian and bring my wine! I hear it's got a pool table and maybe we can get the one with the World of Color view! Alicia and I can do the cooking! I want those alien cupcakes from Toy Story!
