PT Clinic Closing!!!

My DS (4) goes to PT 2-3 times a week and our local clinic is closing. The nearest PT is 1.5 hr away! Just wanted to vent. It just really sucks.

I hear ya! Our PT moved away in June, and the early intervention center hasn't hired a new one. Since kids can only get PT by referral here, we can't go anywhere else. DD2 has totally stopped progressing, and she had been doing so well! So I feel your frustration

What state do you live in? There should be a compliant process you can follow. I am an early intervention teacher in MN and if we had PT (or any other service on a plan) and didn't provided it, we would get in trouble with the state.

I live in BC, Canada, and it's really a to get any services around here. I had to go through 8 different doctors (because none believed anything was wrong with DD) before one finally sent me to a public health nurse, who then sent me to an early interventionist, who then set DD up with OT and PT. It's like navigating a pointlessly confusing beurocracy. We do, however, get all the services for free whether or not we have medical coverage, so it's hard to complain (but I tend to anyway )
