But you miss the point. While it is common courtesy of yesteryear to offer your seat to ladies, the fact is you gave up your seat to a toddler, not the mother. And infact, the mother remained standing HOLDING AN INFANT to let her toddler sit, instead of sitting herself. Not the best decision for the safety of all concerned on a moving bus.
Society has changed. And now that I have lost a lost of my balance due to a rattlesnake bite and nerve damage because of it, and after a young woman chewed me out for holding a door open for her at the mall, I feel much less inclined to be a gentleman, and risk falling on someone on a moving bus.
