PSA mistake

I recently booked my family vacation by phone through Disney Travel. I realized after receiving my confirmation email that my 6 yr old son's name is mispelled (Matthew spelled with one "t"). I book my flight with them as well and they filled out the PSA. I called yesterday and was told it would be $50 to fix it but the CM I spoke to said that he personally didn't think it would be a problem and wouldn't bother. We have never flown with the kids and I'm not sure what the procedure is. Has anyone here ever had a situation like this? Is it ok or should I pay the $50?

I wouldn't change it. DH's work travel agency kept putting his first and middle name smooshed together and it would come through like that on his tickets...it's been fine with domestic AND international travel. (not that he hasn't fixed it now, but it hasn't been a problem in the last year)

For your 6 year son i say he be okay if he was over 18 i say to change it because the new changes in tsa rules to fly. Plus he 6 he wont have to show any id or prove the spelling of his name to tsa that the right spelling it not like he 18 with an id they check. I would call back and say they owe you 100 for puting you through this trouble they made the mistake let them pay for it. This last sentence was a joke I sure the op understood that sorry for any misunderstanding to the op.

all they do is ask the kids names at the TSA check in stand. they don't look at anything else or ask them to spell their names.

he will be fine.

Unless "Mathew-with-one-t" is on the no-fly list, (and he probably isn't), you'll be fine. Don't sweat it.

Thank you all so much for your help. I am going to follow all your advice and just keep it as is. Time to just stop stressing and be excited for what should be a fantastic vacation!

This advice is absolutely ridiculous. It is not a problem if a 6 year old's name is missing a T in Matthew. Plus, we can't know how this mistake really happened. OP has nothing to worry about.

It called a joke I think you understand what a joke is right.

You'll be just fine. The only time it would a problem is for an adult if the name on the ticket didn't match the photo ID displayed at the security checkpoint. Since children are not required to show ID, it's a moot point.

This one is being stressed about way too much..... leave it alone and all will be fine.
