Just my two cents.............

I think the whole section in WWOS is so they can do one ginormos sweep of runners before they get back on the road to DHS instead of having to park all those buses on the side of the road. I am not saying they won't sweep before or after.....but that is all I could think about when I heard about the "Mile 20 spectacular". I would think they would be more likely to just have a hard sweep point at the exit of WWOS than to extend the pacing requirements. Just my opinion.........which is not based on experience.

I agree that the extension is not likely. I also think without question the parking lot of WWoS will have buses running and A/C on waiting to the gate out to close; regardless of whether the heat was on or the ice capades were in town. . I do think that with the warmer temps that cutting out part of the course may be likely. You do bring up a great point of the 20 mile spectacular and since that has been a hook since the medal announcement, it may well be the order of the day that runners will not be allowed out. I do know that in the past, the out and back was cut out on a race of two for the late runners in an effort to minimize sweeps.

I wish I was fast enough to even think about McDonald's. It will take all I have to stay away from the sweepers. Everyone enjoy one for me
