I'm sure most of you know, but if you book a SW flight and then the price goes down, you can rebook the same flight at the lower price and bank the balance to use within the year.
We paid through the nose to fly to Orlando over Easter, when I checked yesterday, the return flight was sold out in the cheaper category, but the departing flight had been lowered from over $400 to $162!
I went into my reservation and changed my flight....booked the exact same flight but at the lower price. Total credit for DD and me was $487!
We will travel to WDW in August, apply this credit and wind up paying about $75 round trip each for that trip!

Gotta luv SWA!

However..... if you don't use your credit within a year of your purchase it will cost you $75 per passenger to extend it.

I think that's awesome! Didn't know it was possible to extend it!
Won't be necessary this time! Jumped on the Dolphin's Super Bowl special and booked 9 days end of August for the price of 6 with a free upgrade! Add that to the $75 RT airfare when I use this credit and that is going to be a very cheap trip to Disney! So excited!

My Southwest fares for April just keep going up  Fortunately, I booked them when they first came out but I am still checking for lower fares :rolleyes1

Does anyone know, if you booked the orignal flight using rapid rewards points do you get those points credited back to you if you rebook a cheaper flight? Or does it work the same as if you had paid cash?

they go back into your account. We flew to WDW in November on the 50,000 pts I received when I opened the VISA - The flights kept going down in price, so I just kept changing the reservation (same flights) and the points kept going back into my account. We ended up the 4 of us flying to WDW for 39,000 pts. It was great!
