i want to treat my husband and son to a ps3 when we go to orlando on dec 15th dose anyone know were we might find them ?

There are quite a few shops around, but be careful because of customs etc. When i brought my ipod last xmas i threw the box away and hid the receipts just incase as i don't think your meant to spend over a certain amount. Also my ipod broke when we got back to the uk and it took awhile i get it changed as i'd purchased it in the states.

dont you need a step down converter to convert the volts, also uk games wont play on a usa one when they are released

I suspect that this is indeed the case :( Sony are very keen to restrict sales of the PS3 to the markets they are being released in so convenient differences like these will no doubt be pounced upon.

Unless you are willing to pay at the very least $2500 you will have no chance of getting one this side of christmas.

I concur with disneydaft. You had to pre order or be willing to camp out for 3 or 4 days to get your hands on one. If there is another deliver pre Xmas, they will all be pre-ordered long before now. To give you some idea, I pre-ordered Xbox 360's in 7 shops in early September last year and only ONE actually got me one before Xmas. The rest could not fulfill all their pre orders. I got a call in late January from another shop saying they had finally got one in for me. XBox 360s are nowhere near as popular as the PS3 will be. There's only 100,000 available and most of those were for the Japan market. They are selling of ebay for $1000's.

I thought that there were 400,000 for japan and the us together, quite a few people have been robbed or beat up while waiting for a ps3. Just because the ps1 and ps2 were popular doesnt mean to say the ps3 will be, it will more than likely be very popular, but sony are loosing around $200 a console, when the hd dvd is released for the 360 it will be the cheapest hi def player.

Some stores are already taking pre orders over here.(Despite the fact that they don't even know whether they have even got any of the first delivery, never mind how many!) The Xbox has always been a better product but the PS has always outsold them. I think it's safe to say that the PS3 will be a big seller. The Japanese versions are going for around £800 on ebay.

It will, the games are region free.

I didnt know that. Although you still wont be able to play uk ps1 and ps2 games on a jap machine they are region coded

You'd make a customs officers dreams come true if you tried to get a PS3 back into the country - it'd be on par with a suitcase stuffed with illegal substances!

Seriously, they'll be on the look out for something like this simply because it's not available (officially) in the UK. It's too big for hand luggage and would set all the case X-Ray machines off if you put it in the hold. Personally, I'd rather wait until UK launch than take the risk.

Im sure they would thank you much more for a Wii and a 360, which can both be bought for about the same price as a PS3. That way you wont be assisting $ony in their quest for world domination.
