Ok so I am ready to make PS arrangements but I need a little guideance. Our first full day will be a Wed and we will be leaving Sat. We have two families with 4 kids total (all 4 and under). We want to kick off Wed with a character breakfast and then hit TTMM. Oh and we already paid for a princess dinner. Do people usually go back and for between DL and DCA in the same day or should we block out a DL day and a DCA day? So should I make a PS for every dinner? I have heard that counter service is crazy at dinner time. I know we want to hit BB. Should we do lunch or dinner? Where else should we go? :confused3

Hmm...since you're already doing a character experience on Wednesday with Toon Town Morning Madness, are you sure you want to do a character breakfast that same morning? I don't know if kids can OD on characters, but that seems like too much to me. Also, you don't want to have to rush breakfast because you're trying to get to TTMM.

The entrances to DL and DCA are only about 100 yards apart, so yeah, people go between the two all the time. Since DL always opens earlier than DCA and closes later, you might want to start your day at DL and then go over to DCA for a while, then you can pop back to DL later if you want to.

If you eat dinner early (5:30) lines at the counter service places aren't as bad. Places like Rancho del Zocalo and Plaza Inn have lots of seating, too. Generally eating a table service meal will take longer than a CS meal, so if you want to maximize park time I would eat some dinners at CS places...but with 4 kids under the age of 5 you might want that down time that you'll have sitting in a restaurant! If you want to eat table service meals I definitely recommend making PS rather than trying to walk up that day.

I prefer lunch at the Blue Bayou rather than dinner - and I'd recommend getting the earliest seating for lunch that you can so the restaurant will be a *little* less crowded and busy, at least when you sit down.

My favorite TS restaurant in the parks is The Vineyard Room at DCA, followed by the Trattoria at DCA. And I prefer Cafe Orleans to Blue Bayou. There's lots of restaurants at Downtown Disney, though - and all of those are just a short walk outside the parks.

You can see menus for all these places on AllEars.net: http://allearsnet.com/dlr/din/menu/menus.htm

I would make PSs for all the dinners... you can always cancel if you aren't going to use it. I also would make the PS for close to where you plan to be at dinner time anyway... not try and get to where dinner is (like if you plan on being in DL--maybe riding Pirates etc... and then need to be at Ariel's for dinner, it is a long way to go, and a waste of time to hoof it that far--that you could use for riding another ride!)

See that is why I am here. What a great point about character overload and the rush to get to TTMM.
The other family is insistant on the BB PS. I am hoping I can talk them into lunch instead of dinner.
My concern is how do you even know where you will be. I have to work in a TTMM, MM, character breakfast, and Ariels Grotto. Since Friday will be a fireworks and fantasmic what would your suggestions be?

Remember that it's very easy to hop from DL to DCA and vice versa, so even if you're in DCA Friday evening for dinner at Ariel's, it's quite easy to pop over to DL once you're done to see the fireworks.

I'd plan to do your TTMM on Wednesday, and either do Ariel's that night or Friday. Definitely do your MM on Thursday, and maybe do BB for lunch that day. Can you do your character breakfast on Saturday morning before you leave? Otherwise, Friday morning looks like the best time for that.
