We are going to Disney World for the week of Thanksgiving and I was wondering if I need to make PS for Rainforest Cafe. We are not intending to eat lunch until about 3. My thing is that I am still not sure what day we are doing what park and really don't want to be obligated at this time. My question is can I just make my ps the night before we decide to do Animal Kingdom or even the morning of and still get the time we would like or do I need to call now. Thanks in advance for any help:bounce: :Pinkbounc

In my opinion, I would make a Priority Seating. If you dont make it no harm done. I am going the week before Thanksgiving and into the beginning week of Thanksgiving and I made PS for lunch already. I did it at the first day I could make it and I didnt have a whole lot of choices. Cover yourself just to be save.

I also believe that you can go to Rainforest without going into the AK and using tickets.

Hope it helps.

Thanks doodlebug939. I think I will call and make my ps and if we change our minds we can always cancel.:bounce: :Pinkbounc

I believe there's also a Rainforest Cafe in the Downtown Disney area as well.

I don't believe this one takes PS, if so we've never used it, but are planning an arrival dinner around 4pm on Saturday before Thanksgiving and thought no PS was needed.

If you're planning on using vouchers, remember ONLY the RFC at AK takes the VKL vouchers.

AK RFC takes regular PS reservations. DTD RFC only takes PS one day prior according to what I've been told. In our experience, the AK restaurant is not nearly as crowded as the DTD one.

One other thing, we bought safari club membership at DTD RFC a couple of years ago. The price was 15 dollars and that gives you the advantages of PS on a walk-in basis--basically, you get next available table with a walk-in. Also, you get a 10% discount on your meal or a free appetized on each visit. As RFC is one of our favorite places to eat at WDW, this was a great option for us.

Is the safari club membership good at any RFC locations including AK

The Safari Club is good at any location Rainforest Cafe, Joes Crab Shack, Landry Seafood, Cadillac Mexican restaurant, The Crab House and Willi G's.

It does not expire and my paperwork states. Priority Seating and Guaranteed Reservation for parties of Six or less when you call 24 hours in advance.

I dont know how it would work with the Rainforest in AK because Disney makes the reservations. I made a Priority Seating and will present my card when I get to the check in and see if it helps.

I got my card about a month after I joined the Safari Club along with a coupon for $10 off. Plus I do mypoints and have managed to have $80 saved my my next trip.

If you dont have a rainforest near you here is the phone number and the address:

Rainforest Cafe Safari Club
1510 West Loop Shouth
Houston, TX 77027

Hope it helps you!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Both RFCs take PS months in advance. I agree that the Safari Club is a great purchase and you should look into into. You will also get a $10 coupon for joining and then coupons at birthdays.

As for being crowded, it depends on the day and the time same as any other restaurant.

I didn't know about this Safari Club. I can go to my local Landry's and inquire about this?

We're planning on eating at the RFC in DTD on the day we arrive. We have a gift certificate that we earned from MyPoints.com to use and will hopefully have another one before we go.

We're not planning on visiting any parks on our arrival day. We're just going to walk around DTD and have an early dinner.

I joined the Safari Club in Tempe AZ about 4 years ago. Since then I have used it in Vegas, DTD, and AK. I always get priority seating and a free appetizer or 10% off. It only cost me $15 at the time and they have sent me coupons that have more than covered the membership fee since then. The only problem I have is the closest one for me is in Niagara Falls Ontario and they do not participate. I guess International locations are excluded from the offer.

One more question....

Do the Safari Club offers apply at the other restaurants this company owns or only the RFC?

Hi,

I just wanted to clarify that Safari Club DOES expire if you don't use the card once a year. If you use the card once a year, supposedly it's good forever.

We have a Rainforst about 2 hours from us so we use the card 3 or 4 times a year as well as at disney. It has been a savings fo us.

Last time we went to DTD RFC (at 6 p.m. on a Sunday) we stood in line for 20 minutes to put our name in, just to be told it would be a 2 1/2 hr. wait. A RFC employee was standing in front of the store with a tag that said something about asking her how to get seated immediately. She was signing people up for the Safari Club, and if you joined right then you were seated in about 15 mins., and got your Safari Club discount off of that meal. I don't know if it really would have been a 2 1/2 hr. wait otherwise, but needless to say we joined right then! It defintely is worth it to us, between the savings at RFC that night and on future WDW trips, the $10 cert., and yesterday I got a $5 cert. in the mail for my birthday...and it's good til the end of the year! Every little bit counts! :D

This is one of our favoirte places to eat! We are a party of 8 and we all enjoy it on different levels that it's a must do every time we go to WDW.
We have made PS for both Downtown and AK.
In my opinion I would rather have the PS than wait for an available seating for 8 people.
We will also be visiting the week of Thanksgiving and have PS for 11/25 at Downtown Disney.
I would love to get the Safari Club Discount card before going this trip but I actually can still use my Disney Club card discount until 12/31.Maybe the next time for the Safari Club!:)
