How easy is it to change the number of your party for a PS? I'm going at the end of June for one day and definitely want to make a lunch/brunch PS for myself at Cafe Orleans. I know that there will be at least 3 of my group (myself, my aunt, and her fiancee), but I haven't gotten anything definitive from the rest of the group (my parents, grandparents, brother, and other assorted extended family members), probably because the few of the who have been to DL before haven't been in 10+ years and aren't 100% how their day will pan out. Should I err on the side of caution and just make a PS for most of the group with the possibility of shrinking the number later or should I lay down the law and make them decide now (2 months out is just a few days away, since it'll be summer I don't want to risk putting off making the PS and risk not getting in)? Is it even possible to stop by the day of at the hostess stand and say that while my PS is 10 there's only 6 of us who are going to be there? I'm just super worried about it because it's the only thing I have to worry about  and normally when I make a PS I make it 2 months out to the day and I always stick to the number of my party.

Just call them and they can change the arrangements. Make a list if you have more than one change. The CM on the the telephone will walk you through the changes and what to do. It is very easy and they usually are rather nice people.

The same issue came up for me last year, during the holidays (holiday time = if you don't have a PS, be prepared to wait in long, long lines just for a counter service restaurant!).

There were going to be 8 people in our party, but plans changed between the time I made the PS'es (5 day trip! Many PS'es!) and the time of the trip. The party sized varied over the course of the days. I let the hosts/hostesses know our party would be smaller than originally planned on most days. They were very understanding! On one of the days, though (CP weekend...never again! :scared1:), we didn't make it over to Cafe Orleans in time to notify them.

But it worked out well...there was a couple behind us in line, who hadn't been to the Park in 30+ years & didn't know about preferred seating. So, they shared our PS (our party was -2 that day), and it worked out great! We all shared a table, and had a blast!

Have fun on your trip!

I'd book with the bigger number. It's easier to find a smaller table (or sit your smaller group at the already designated big table) than it is to find room for more people.

Thanks for all of your feedback. I feel better about booking with a larger number and then shrinking it now that I realize that it wouldn't be the end of the world (or really annoy people) if I did that (and that it's not only possible but easily done).
