We will be staying at the Poly at the end of August, and will probably eat breakfast most days at Kona. Do you need PS's for breakfast? Does it get really crowded that there will be a wait? Thanks in advance for all replies
Oh yes, definitely a ps required, unless perhaps you mean to go when the restaurant first opens. We have been caught many times having to wait 30 - 45 minutes or even an hour when trying to drop in around 8 or 9 am.

Wow! I was hoping that I wouldn't have to make PS's for breakfast, because I never know when I'll be ready and I hate to rush! I guess I'll be making a few PS's for breakfast now. Thanks for the answer!
That's a toughie if you are going in late August as to wether or not to make a PS.
We ate at Kona for Breakfast the last Sunday in August. We made PS's the night before for the 9:00 range. We were seated immediately. There were plenty of seats.
I've always made ressies for Kona breakfast.........however, I have found that if you go when it opens (with or without ressies), it is generally pretty empty. If I were you though, I wouldn't take a chance. Make the ressies at a "safe" time so you don't have to rush to get ready. If the night before, you feel you can't get up in time, call and cancel. You can always stop by and see if there are openings later.
