Proud new owners.....Again!

We have been watching resale prices since the beginning of the year. We felt that right now seemed like the perfect time to pick-up a few extra points at a great price. Last month we decided to put in an offer for a resale contract at Saratoga Springs. We fiigured we shoot low and if it got accepted and thru ROFR, then it was meant to be. If Disney had bought it back, we were going to buy a BLT contract with the new incentives.

So as of last night we are proud owners of 400 additional points!!

Starting to feel a little better about my logic if you were thinking the same thing. As you've seen from my posts we're waiting on a SSR resale at a pretty good price (but not as good as yours), I figured that if we get the contract I'll be thrilled, and if not we're looking at buying BLT given the current incentives.

Before this contract purchase, we have 735 points - October use year. As of today we have zero 2008 points, zero 2009 points and 700 points for 2010 (coming in October 2010). So we are in need of a point infusion.

Before this year we could use our other timeshares and trade in to DVC as a supplement, but the switch to RCI to that away.

You're not giving me much hoping that I'll ever be out of the borrowing mode, since we're only up to 380 points.

SSR resale is BY FAR The best DVC deal out there. You get a long contract at a fraction of the price of buying new. If I was in the market for more points, I would have done exactly the same thing.
