DD and I were at a moms group today and they got on the topic of taking the kids to Disney (all of the kids are 18 months to two and a half) The general idea was that they wouldn't take them this early because they won't remember it

Belle hears them talking about it and pipes up "Me see Mickey!" and "Me get Minnie hat and Bubba get Buzz hat" and she started telling everyone about our trip to Disneyland Paris - back in October! She was 22 months old then. She told them we were going again......they were all shocked that we were taking a 3-4 month old too. I was so proud!:cloud9:

Obviously the idea that they won't remember it is just  and even if the new one doesn't remember we'll have some really cute pictures! :flower:

Good for your dd!!

And as for that "they won't remember it" reasoning, none of us should have eaten lunch today since by next month we won't remember what we had - LOL.

Wanna hear something funny? I just had someone tell me yesterday (who didn't know we'd already been to WDW) that we should wait to take our kids until they were "older" as she and her DH had taken their son when he was *12* and he didn't remember that much about it! Goodness, I'd never heard of waiting to take a family vacation until the kids were teens! She didn't think we should bother going *anywhere* not just WDW! Sorry, but I like to have fun with my kids (and DH too ;) ) so if they can't remember every detail when they're 40, I can live with that ;)

Laurie :)

crack me up!

My DS is 5 (6 in june) and he's gone every year of his life!

Not only does he remember the trip but often times the details that I easily forget. Also he remembers which year it happened when for me I have to think about it for a sec and reason why it would be that year ie: height limits, character dinners etc. lol

I tell all of my friends there is something every year for them to grow into.

I would agree with the older kid bit if it was a once in a lifetime trip but not for those who take family vacations at least anually.

I hate hearing people say that!! We would have missed some of OUR best memories of Disney had we followed that logic...

My last trip to WDW was what seems to be a million and one years ago (they were just starting work on Norway at WS) and yet I remember (I was under 12!) I think it depends on the family. As a kid WDW trips were when we went to visit my Grandparents, it was always a big deal!! I have lots of fond memories and thanks to my parents lots of fun pictures!

Some parents are just no fun I think! ;)

She's an addict, what can I say?? :teeth: Her brother is the same way, he's got his maps out and he's planning for our trip in October :earboy2:

With any luck this new little person will take after her older brother and sister!! :flower:
