Protocol for attaining Grocery's

How do you go about having grocery's delivered to your room? Do you go out to get them yourself, Do you provide a list of what you want delivered? We never drive to WDW, last time used ME it was great, but do I need to rent a car or call a taxi to get grocerys????

We've used gardengrocer.com to order our groceries in the past and will be using them again for our trip in just over a week. You select your items on-line and then fill out the delivery information. You will let them know where you are staying and get a delivery "window" (i.e. our time is between 2-5PM). They will contact you close to that time to get your room number and deliver to your room. If you are out at a park at the time then they can leave the groceries with bell services (they have refrigerators) and then they can deliver to your room. Will you be needing perishable groceries? If not then what we do is ship a box down a few days before our trip containing all our grocery items. That way I have everything my kds need and are use to, like spicific drinks and snacks. I ship drink boxes, water, cereal, and all kids of snacks. I even throw in my toiletries! This works out so well for us. When we check in our bax is waiting for us at the front desk.

Your other options are to use an online source like the previous poster mentioned. Keep in mind some do charge a fee and have minimum amount you have to spend. Goodings is another one people here seem to like.

You could also just take a taxi from your resort to an off property place and shop and take a taxi back.

Or, use the service provided by Disney. There is a list on the members website with the items you can order.

How much is a taxi to Goodings or Publix? I was just looking at the prices for groceries through DVC and they're pretty outrageous. We only need a few things that we can't bring with us, so I'm trying to figure out the most economical way.

the ONLY way I recommend getting groceries is thru GardenGrocer. These folks were wonderful to us back in July. Some friends of our used them twice and had great service. I think the delivery charge is $10 or so....it certainly beats wasting my vacation time to drive (or get a taxi) to find a grocery that I know nothing about where the items are. It was the best thing my family has ever done while at Disney! We already are using them again this coming years trip.

We just used GardenGrocer and love it! The groceries were delivered right when we arrived. The website is great, you just pick what you want from there list and the prices are right there so you know exactly what it will cost you.

This was the 1st time I used them and I was a little nervous but it worked out great. The prices were right in line with our local store (except without the sale price), but having water, juice, breakfast foods, soda, snacks available during our stay was priceless.

we used wegoshop.

I chose them over Garden Grocer because with wegoshop, you give them your list with your specified brands, sizes, etc. whatever you want.

with GG you order from their website. they have lots of stuff but not everything we wanted. I understand you can request additional things not listed, but I preferred to work with wegoshop because the way they do it, every order is a "custom" order and they are used to that.

I sent her the list about a week ahead. She said to call when we had our room number & she came at our chosen time to deliver. We were very pleased with the service & will use her again.

We also used WeGo for our groceries in Oct and they were excellant. They called me from the grocery store with a couple of questions, delivered on time and we will definitely use them again!

We used gardengrocer several times on our last trip this past August. Can't say enough about them. We order basics - milk, coffee, cream, sugar, bagels, bread, cold cuts, beer, oh did I mention beer?? LOL Just write in the comments section what you need.

We called a couple of times for supplies (3 week trip - 3 different locations). Only trouble was FL was expecting a hurricane and they were overwhelmed. Turned out - no hurricane - they called us to see if we still needed the delivery.

Don't worry if you need juice etc for the little ones on arrival - the stores are well stocked. Just remembered - the first day we arrived earlier than scheduled - so we headed straight to the parks. Gardengrocer left all our stuff with bell services. Cold items were ice cold when we requested delivery. Janis

We've used Wegoshop.com several times in the past and Marge is great! As other people have said, you can customize your list anyway you want... I would definately use her again...

FYI: Gardengrocer will customize any item you want. We added at least 8 items to our last trip plus some wine! They will accomodate anything needed.

We used wegoshop Sept06 (Labor Day weekend arrival) and had no problems. We were at MK all day and Marge called me with a question about my order. She then delivered to VWL bell services while we were at MK. Once we returned from MK (very late) I called bell services and had the groceries delivered to our room. Everything worked great.

I just checked out the wegoshop website and it says it's for local residents or vacationers staying OUTSIDE the Disney World Resort. Am I missing something? Thay don't deliver to any of the WDW resorts?

We just used Marge from www.wegoshop.com for the second time. She had tried to call us about 2 substituions but DH had forgot his cell phone in the room. The substitutions were just fine though. I have found our service friendly and timely.

Goodings prices are high, go to Publix, Winn-Dixie or Super Walmart, they are all right outside of WDW on 535.

If you only need a few things, you might be better off buying them at your resort considering the cost of a taxi.

Yes, we did tip wegoshop in addition to the delivery fee. DH & I agreed between ourselves that if she was very close to the agreed-upon time, we would tip a certain amount, and if she was later, we would tip less, and if she was really late, we would not tip.

We used wegoshop.com for our recent trip, and I have to tell you, Marge did a fabulous job with our very large order. Everything was exactly as we requested, and because we were delayed at the airport, we found she had already delivered to the BCV by the time we arrived. I was afraid we'd have to delay getting to the parks, but the grocery delivery didn't hold things up at all. Marge had delivered our items to Bell Services, and they delivered the items to our rooms, later, along with our luggage.

Great service!! I plan to use her again when we go in the fall.

Can I ask about how fa in advance do you send your box? We were thinking of doing this for the baby's things. Diapers are so bulky.
