HI
Can you folks fill me in on some details to SSR!

First, how's the transport? I won't have a car and am planning on spending most of my time in the parks. So, whats the wait like. (Stayed at WL, GF, ASsports & POP if you can compare)

How's the CS? Any made to order items like Waffles and Burgers or other hot items or is it only grab and go?

Is the resort spread out so much it takes forever to get everywhere?

Thanks for all of your help!

Transport, all busses, except a boat to DTD. Personally I am pleased with SSR bus service, and always thought SSR busses have a higher priority vs values. (I think SSR is usually stop 4 at the parks, which makes it one of the closer ones) I used to like AS Sports, and thought SSR was a slight bus upgrade. The huge POP lines at the parks always scared me away from staying there!
IMHO All busses, though, is no where in the same league of GF (monorail and boat) or WL that has boat available to a park

CS, there is some higher quality food, but it is a really small place with a much more limited selection than a food court. I would only plan on at most one breakfast (you are asked on resort TV to avoid the popular 8-10am and instead go 7-8 or 10-11) and one lunch or dinner at SSR's AP.
For TS, SSR has a very nice Turf Club, many have reported their best meal of the trip was at the Turf Club!

I do find SSR quite spread out, but there are multiple bus stops, so you are never very far from one and there are 3 smaller pools so you are never too far from a pool. If you plan on taking it somewhat slow and relaxing, you will have a perfectly lovely time, If you are trying to rush everywhere, you will be disapointed.

Take advantage of what SSR can do for you, If possible take the boat to DTD (or if you prefer a nice walk, take the path). Try a Spa treatment or a round of golf. Plan a few meals or snacks in the room so you do not feel that you have to "trek" to CS at AP (even studios at least have a mini-fridge, microwave, toaster and coffemaker..) and enjoy the views from your balcony!

1. Transportation: good, and getting better from the latest reports. There are 5 bus stops (one for each area). Times to parks aren't bad at all. You can also walk or boat ride to DTD (makes resort to resort travel much easier)

2. CS: The Artist's Palette menu is different than a lot of other CS. No burgers, but fantastic flatbread pizzas & sandwiches & salads. Breakfast flatbread pizza is my DS's favorite :thumbsup2. It's really a nice change of pace!
TS: The Turf Club Bar & Grill is a hidden gem. We've eaten here 3 or 4 times now and have had fantastic service & great food :thumbsup2 menu

3. Layout: There are a lot of reports of "how big" SSR is. It looks more spread out on the map than it is in person. All of the areas are 5-10 minute walks from the main pool and dining areas. We've walked from the Grandstand to DTD in less than 15 minutes.

Can't think of any Cons. It's a great place. BIG, but, great.

We stayed in Congress Park. The short walk over to Downtown Disney was very plesant, and, having the DTD busstop made getting to other resorts a breeze. The only time we drove our car in the two weeks we stayed there was to go to Typhoon Lagoon, and that was because we don't like riding in the bus while wet.
