Pros and Cons of packing with space saving bags?

I don't like the roll kind for suitcases they seem to take up more space then just rolling the clothes themselves.

do love the cube for extra blankets and winter clothes.

Just roll your clothes and line up in your suitcase they will fit better.

when they are dirty (bring a kitchen trash bag with you) re roll them into bag shove back in suitcase, at the end of the trip of course.

Thanks. Do you know the brand name. I am interested in purchasing.
Thanks.

I think they were by Ziplock. They just say "Space Bag To Go" on them. I threw away the box they came in. It is a 3 pack of the medium size bags and I think I paid around $12.

Thanks so much!

I didn't like rolling and squeezing air out. Flying is an issue with weight.
But, I did buy Ebags that are packing cubes. I have the med, lg and x-L. There was a great sale on them.

The one set is all the same size, the other has two lg and two smaller. Then for socks and smaller things I use gallon zip locks. What I love about the cubes is the organization when traveling. When we cruise there is limited space. Having the cubes in the suitcase , they are layered and nestled. I have different colors foe guys n gals.
Even with the med. I can roll tanks and T's slip them in the zippered container and they travel so well.

Best investment ever!

I agree about how great the ebags are for packing. I L O V E them.
I had to answer you since when I quickly looked at this thread and saw you were the last to post, I quickly mistook your screen name to say
"ladygolddigger" and was like wow, that's brave for a screen name :rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

Ooo'ah that sounds frisky. ;)
I was a burnett and when ii aged my hair turned ivory blonde.

I used the ebag packing the cruise this past June and am in love. I use to roll ans squeeze, this is much nicer. I have maybe 4 in each suitcase, two gallon bags and my cosmetic case. When you open it up it is so organized and clean looking.
The Plus is i can find ebpvery thing and dont have to reroll, squash or worry of overweight luggage.

I use space saving bags during winter travel when I have to flatten out bulky winter clothes. Sometimes I also use Ziploc but the clothes sometimes come out with wrinkles. I also use Dot&Dot packing cubes and folders to save space and for better organization and easy packing and unpacking.

I used both Samsonite Space-savers and the original Space bag for my 2013 trip. They were great. purchased them on sale (clearance) at Ollie's (outlet store) and Meijer's. I also bought a small luggage scale to check each piece of luggage before each flight.

I have one I will use, but use it mostly to keep running clothes separate from the rest of the rest. Most cotton clothes, t-shirts, jeans, shorts etc don't have that much to compress. So while the space bags will get some air out, they really excel on things like sweaters, comforters, etc. Items that have lots of heft and air pockets in them. There will be some space savings, but even the travel size bags don't really fit in a carry on once rolled out. The extra bag around the clothes becomes hard due to the vacuum created in the bag, and is tough to maximize the space around it.

Without question for me, the best use of bags is on the return trip. Even if I pack in cubes on the way there, I always take bags for the return. As we wear things, the dirty clothes go into the space bag which are zipped and put in a suitcase as they fill. When we get home, they are flung down the stairs to the washer.

I use the packing cubes as well as the packing folders. Got mine at "Marshall's" less than online. I use the Ziploc Space saver travel bags as well, came in a large package from costco with both regular space bags and travel ones.

When my children were little I would pack diapers using a food saver. I still do some items with my foodsaver for items going to WDW and use space bags on the way back. I need the room on the way down for Maple Syrup, Green Mountain Coffee, and Cabot Cheese in my suitcase. Once these bulky items are left in Florida I can fill the space with souvenirs!!!
