Pros and Cons of Motorhome ?

It's always good to know the alternatives. :thumbsup2

As far as not having a vehicle to drive - get a tow dolly. That way you can tow any vehicle without having to get a vehicle modified for a tow bar and brake buddy.

We have had good luck without having a car. Renting a car for a day has not been a problem anywhere we've been (thanks enterprise - they pick you up btw), or we camp on the gulf, on the river, or on the metro (DC). Don't get me wrong, we want to get a dinghy, but I don't think it's required or necessarily cost effective (esp at WDW)....

We've done the Enterprise thing, too. It's okay for short vacations of 2 weeks or less. Any longer and you've bought a dolly in rental fees.

My MH is a 2008 38' built on the Ford Triton V-10 (3rd generation) with 368hp and 5 speed tansmission.

At work I had a custom built 38' mobile office on a 2010 FRED chassis with the 'box' built by Tiffin coach.

After driving both I can tell you that I like the Ford gas burner best. The FRED might perform better on an uphill climb (I have never loaded it down as much as the Ford), but overall the Ford does better.
