So are next trip to Disney is set for next fall (thinking November bc we have never been near Christmas?!) Any who are there any pro's to going that time of year? How are the lines..How is the weather..we are looking at the second week of the month..

Nov. is great! The weather can be tricky though as you need to pack clothes for the heat and the dold! We love going in Nov.

We just got back from a trip the beginning of December! Love it so much we are going back next year for our honeymoon! We will also be going around the second week of November and wass wondering about the weather and the crowds? The usual things, ya know! :)

We love going the week of Thanksgiving. We have done this 4 times. We usually arrive the Thursday or Friday before Thanksgiving Thursday. We like to enjoy the parks for a few days before the mass crowds arrive...which starts around Tuesday. Thanksgiving week has become a very popular week. We noticed each trip we took that particular week....has gotten busier. However, it is still a beautiful time to go. The decorations are usually up or they magically appear over night while there. As far as the parks go....we avoid Thanksgiving day and the day after. We usually fly home the day after Thanksgiving. I have friends that arrive most Nov. on Wed. the day before and stay through the following Tuesday. They always say that Thanksgiving weekend is very crowded but things start clearing out that Sunday/Monday. I love going during Thanksgiving week..... even if it is crowded the closer you get to the holiday. You just need to plan accordingly....take in the ambiance of just being there with all the decorations and you will have a wonderful time. :thumbsup2

We've gone to WDW in October / November for several years and love it. As long as you avoid the holidays, the parks are very uncrowded and only the most popular attractions have any significant wait. Hotel rates (or DVC points) are lower then, too. We've even checked in on the Sunday after Thanksgiving, and while there was some hustle and bustle, by late afternoon things had mostly calmed down.

In October you stand a good chance of having a nice warm day if you wanted to go to one of the water parks. On the other hand, the first week of December is notorious for being chilly (and this year, downright cold).

That said, you'll still need to do a little planning - restaurant reservations fill up quickly, and MK can still be a little crowded on the weekend or late in the afternoon if the weather is nice.

We've stopping shelling out the bucks for MNSSHP and MVMCP, but you can still see Main Street decorated for the holidays, and starting in early November, you can catch the Osborne lights.

This is the first year they have started the Osborne Lights so early. In 2008 when we were there...they started the day after Thanksgiving. :scared1: That was a first. We missed them because we flew home that day. Usually they start up about a week or a few days before Thanksgiving.

We were there the second week of November this year and it was wonderful. The temps were in the low 70's during the day and then in the upper 50's after the sun went down. The crowds were light. MK was very decorated and has the MVMCP (very fun!). HS had a lot of decorations too - Osborne Lights was going on (amazing!).

The only places that seemed heavy with crowds were the restaurants and HS. I think HS was crowded because there was a limited number of Fantasmics that week. Some of the parks do close earlier than more crowded times of the year but the lower crowds, cheaper airfare, and free dining offer made it worth it to me.

We went November 18-24 2008. It was a great time to go and the last day we were there it started to get crazy busy!!! I think people were coming in for Thanksgiving so we got out of there right in time  We got to see the Christmas decorations which was great but it was quite cold. DH who is rarely cold was freezing one day and had to stop and buy a sweatshirt! All in all though it was a great time to go!!!
