Which is better and why?

Confused a bit, Fort Wilderness Cabins or Wilderness Lodge? We prefer Wilderness Lodge to AKL, location is much better. AKL is more isolated, whereas at WL you have a boat to MK and a resort launch to CR to board the monorail if you desire more dining options.

I agree wilderness lodge is more convenient but you can't beat A.K. for its beauty, the animals, the price, and it is quiet. When you want to go to sleep it is quiet. The restaurants are great two of them are the best in Disney. Just sitting in the lodge is wonderful. If it is cool you can sit by the fire pit and enjoy yourself. The Poly will always be my favorite but A.K. is n r 2.

We've stayed at both. You won't be disappointed with either, but we far prefered AKL. We got far better service and we found the resort and grounds to be far nicer and better kept at AKL. We also prefered the dining options at AKL. We stayed at WL first and had dinner at AKL one night of our stay. My husband walked in the lobby, looked around and looked at me and said, "Why didn't we stay here instead?"

The only downside that we found to AKL is a longer bus ride to the MK. However, overall, we had really good bus service.

Again, I don't think you will be disappointed with the WL if that's what you choose. It is a very nice resort in a good location.

Hands down WL, just based on location alone ... AKL is at the end of Disney property and a bus ride to everything!

WL , in the MK area with the boat to the MK , FW and CR... Plenty if lounging, shopping and dining options a short boat ride away... We like being in the thick of things but still have the quietness of WL to fall back to... Very compact and all under one roof ...

AKL, stayed there once, not our cup of tea based on location and food offerings and though we had a Savannah view, very few animals.. Been there done that ain't going back for us

We loved loved loved WL! I've only stayed at Kidani but AKL is just not my cup of tea. Very long hallways and far from MK. The other parks weren't so bad to get to.

Both are wonderful resorts. Lobby is similar styling just different theming. You of course get the animals at AKL, and I enjoy the resort activities there like the Cultural Safari, night viewing, and culinary tour. I also like the pool better.

At WL I love the location, being central to MK area. Boat to MK, also a resort boat to CR & FW making it easy to get to ADRs at other MK resorts. Also like being on the lake. Beach & marina. Renting SeaRaycers is fun! Watch Electric Water Parade at night. Nice walking path to FW too!

Either is a great choice. Just depends what your looking for.
