After much research I narrowed down to these 2 resorts- my DH doesn't understand what the big deal about BC is, he likes all the pics of Coronado Springs. I feel I would be most happy at BC! What are the pros of BC vs. Coronado and if you have been to both do share! Thanks so Much! I would like to make this a joint decision, I need to show him the LIGHT.

You will get many different response to this question but in the end, it all comes down to your own personal preference as they are two very different resorts. I have stayed at both and IMO, I did not care for CSR at all and BC will always hold a special place in my heart bc that was where we stayed on our honeymoon. It is an amazing resort with so much to see and do. That being said, there are many people out there that love CSR and won't stay anywhere else. Pros of CSR- a LOT cheaper than BC, good size rooms, nice pool area, nice southwest theme. They have a sit-down restaurant (that i would not return to but again just my personal preference) and also a food court that I really enjoyed but there are many that don't like it. Cons- very large resort making it a good chance of a long walk to main pool (every section has there own private pool), lobby, and food. I found that although I enjoyed the pepper market (food court), I thought the employees were not friendly AT ALL. My DH and I both were in agreement that we would not stay at CSR again. If we'd go moderate, we much prefer Port Orleans. Now beach club on the other hand....... *sigh* to me I can't find one thing to complain about at BC. This is my 2nd fave resort after my beloved Poly. Pros- best pool on property hands down (sand bottom), walking distance to Epcot and Boardwalk and a short boat ride to DHS, marina to rent water sprites at (CSR also has a marina but I think more limited hrs), fantastic dining options!!!! At beach club- you have cape may cafe with character breakfast, beaches & cream ice cream shop (mmmmmmmmmmmm) and at connecting yacht club you have yachtsmans steakhouse a great romantic restaurant (mention if you have a special event I.e. And you may receive a personalized menu). The resort is just so gorgeous and everything about it is convenient and fab! Again take all my words with a grain of salt. What I prefer may not be what you prefer. But if I had to choose, there's just no comparison for me. Beach club gets my vote alllllll the way!!!!!!! But wherever you stay, you will have a great time because you are at the happiest place on earth!!!! :)

So are you two in conflict simply over the theming? For me it would be a battle of cost vs. convenience. Would the extra cost of BC be worth the convenience of being so close to the parks, and better restaurants?

You might also want to take a look at your touring style. If you plan to tour the parks die-hard, all day long, and get back late, I'd say maybe CSR works better. If you think you'd like to go back to the room for a rest or to take advantage of the pool, BC might be better.

Theming is not the problem I don't think he cares much about that- the problem is we don't know our touring style, we are not sure if we will come back every afternoon this is our first time. For these reasons I thought BC would be better, he knows nothing about dining and convenience of being close to the options of epcot, bw, and dhs. I have learned so much here and think we will appreciate the options with BC. (Is it worth 700 bucks- I think so he just looks at extra money going out, why?)

I forgot we are doing the dining plan/ hoppers and my kids are older 12 and 8 boys.

You have boys 8 and 12? Yes, then I would pick BC or YC. The pool is worth the extra money for your boys. If you are not going to swim, probably not worth it.

We always come back in the afternoon to swim/lay at the pool. Our first few times to the World, we did all days in the parks but we found we prefer the afternoon break.

The negatives to BC are:

Lack of counter service. There is the marketplace/store which has limited selection and it's crowded due to the small space. That's the choice for breakfast items. There is Hurricane Hannahs by the pool where you can get burgers for lunch.

Balconies are standing room only. YC, next door, has full balconies with 2 chairs where you can sit out and actually enjoy your room. Both resorts share the same pool.

The shared buses to MK and AK. BC is picked up after YC and there is the possibility that the buses will be packed. We don't mind standing so not a big deal to us but there are many on here who complain about the MK bus service to/from BC.

The biggest positives are:

The pool, already mentioned. To me, there is no point spending the money to stay at this location if you are not planning on using the pool a lot.

Cape May Cafe, a character breakfast, you can walk right to it.

The ability to walk into Epcot (5 minute walk) or walk to DHS (20 minute walk). You can also ride a boat to either location that would take the same amounts of time.

I'm not going to be much help as we've never stayed at the BC (although it is our dream resort, along with the AKL, which we hope to try in the next couple of years for a few nights). We used to stay deluxe when our kids were really young (at the Contemporary and the Poly) and then we moved to the Coronado when they got a little older and we've not looked back.

We don't worry about transportation because we rent a car and drive to the parks.

The one advantage of the deluxe you are looking at is being able to walk to two parks or take a boat and having a balcony if you want to sit outside at night, etc.

If this is a once in a lifetime trip, I would go with the Beach Club; we have visited it a number of times and it is a beautiful resort. If your DH is really concerned about the money, I can tell you that your boys will love the Dig Site pool at the CSR (our kids loved it more than the one at the Poly); there is also an arcade right by the pool and a sand volleyball court and a pool bar for the adults.

Hands down without a doubt...BC. We prefer location...location to cost. If we're going to vacation at WDW, I want to have the convenience of a park close to my resort with travel options ( we use only Disney transportation) like a boat and bus that BC has (plus you can walk, but HS is a good hike). Being on the water is another plus for us, air seems cleaner and with the Yacht Club next door, Boardwalk across the water and the Swan and Dolphin close by.....more dining, playing options. Yes, 700 dollars it's worth every penny over a moderate CSR, with outside corridors.

Hi NicD!

I've stayed at BC and CSR several times each, so I'll share our experiences in case it helps. BC our favorite resort overall (although I do really like Poly and WL - they would rank second and third favorites) but CSR would be my favorite of the moderates. So either would be a good choice, but we think BC is worth the additional cost.

If you're not sure of your touring style, then I would suggest BC. Our stays at CSR were quite some time ago, but it was very difficult to take a break in the middle of the day because at CSR you rely on all buses or your own car. We love using Disney transportation, but I'll admit that it does take a while when you are relying exclusively on the buses.

At BC, it's much easier to take breaks during the day. We even changed our touring style a bit during recent trips because it's so easy to stop by the BC. Other reasons we like BC: 1) Our boys (ages pre-school to pre-teen) LOVE Hollywood Studios, so we spend lots of time there and it's just a quick walk. 2) We love dinners at Epcot, and we always have park hoppers, so we'll spend our day in another park, hop to Epcot for dinner and then walk "home" to BC. 3) We do take the bus to MK in the morning for rope drop, but because we have park hoppers and we return before Epcot closes, we like to take the monorail from MK to Epcot and walk home to BC from there.

Of course, the BC pool is amazing, and our boys love that too. But even without the pool, BC would be our favorite. We love the theme, the recently renovated rooms, the convenient dining options all around the Epcot area resorts and (because we have park hoppers) inside Epcot.

One other thing - my parents and my aunt and uncle just stayed at CSR again a couple months ago. My parents wanted to save a bit of money on that trip, and CSR is their favorite moderate. They said the renovated rooms were nice, the grounds were peaceful and relaxing, and as always, Pepper Market was great for breakfast. They thought bus transportation everywhere would be fine because it was just an adults' trip. But when they returned, they said they are really glad we'll all be at BC together for our February trip because walking to two parks is such a huge benefit. And after dinner in the World Showcase, nothing beats just strolling back to your room!

I hope that helps a bit, based on the factors that you're considering. Good luck with your decision!

I have a more negative view of CSR. We spent a night there before moving to the YC. It took forever to check in even with on-line check in. I was disappointed in the room, we went to the bar for a drink and were never even acknowledged. Needless to say, we didn't get a drink that night.

The YC was wonderful. The CM's take great care of their guests. It was really night and day. I told my husband that is why I prefer the deluxe. So does he. It is elegant but not at all intimidating. There are lots of TS restaurants between the YC, BC and across the way at BWI. Epcot is just a short walk away. OUr grandsons loved the pool.
We have stayed at the BC as well but now the YC is really our favorite of the 2.

Wherever you stay, have a wonderful trip!

I've stayed at YC and CSR, and I like both. If you can afford the extra $700, go for BC or YC (so you get a full balcony). The location is great and the pool is wonderful. We are spending two days at YC next summer just for the pool...we may not even go to parks when we are there (we then have 7 days at an offsite townhome which will be all WDW days). CSR is a lovely moderate resort, and I would stay there again, but only if I couldn't afford YC. My kids are 14 and 8 and they will be very excited when we get back to YC (they don't know about that part of the trip....not telling them until the night before we go!).

I stayed at both last trip, and I prefered CSR. I really enjoyed the theming there, and because the resort is more spreadout, I found it to be much quieter.

CSR is a great resort, but BC/YC are worth every extra penny.

The luxury of being so close to the parks cannot be overstated. You could fight the crowds after Illuminations or you could stroll back to the Beach and your resort. The Boardwalk can be a lot of fun, the pool is every bit as good as people say, and, despite a lack of quick service, the food options are great.

You'll probably be tempted to push on and see everything as fast as you can, but from experience, it is a much more relaxing and enjoyable trip if you can take a breather, and there is no place more convenient or beautiful to do it than the BC.

Location, Location, Location.
BC walk to either MGM (long one) or to Epcot back entrance. Or take boat to either.
BC is a Premium property.
Cor. is a moderate property.

nuff said.

I have stayed at both..CSR feels like a condo complex in Arizona to me, but that is only opinion. The real draw for me is the proximity of BC to 2 themeparks in walking distance, the fabulous pool etc. We never want to stay anywhere else again

We have stayed several times at the Beach Club and at CSR. BC is one of my favorite deluxes and CSR is the only moderate I would consider and the best value at WDW IMO. CSR is one of my favorite resorts regardless of price.

Some thoughts:

My kids (11 and 7) rank the BC pool first and CSR second of all WDW resorts.

Walking to Epcot from BC is very nice if you plan to spend evenings there for dinner, Illuminations, etc.

Transportation to DHS is convenient from BC - take the boat.

Transportation to MK and AK is not great from BC - the buses are shared with several resorts (BC, YC, Swan, Dolphin and BW at times) - it can be hard to get a seat and it can take a long time.

Transportation from CSR is all by bus, but it doesn't share with any other resorts and the buses are very efficient. CSR has multiple bus stops. BC has one bus stop, and it can be a VERY long walk back to your room if you have one of the back rooms near the boardwalk on the Epcot side. BC is all one building so you can stay dry if it rains, but you have to walk to the bus stop - the walk is not covered. CSR has multiple buildings, so if it is raining, you would get wet going to get food or the bus (but you'd get wet in the parks anyway).

We've had the full balcony at BC, which is worth it, and the standing room only balcony, which isn't.

Some BC rooms have two queens and a day bed - that is great if your boys don't like to sleep together. CSR has two queens with room for an air mattress.

If you are going in warmer weather, your boys would love the pool at BC. If you plan to spend a lot of time at Epcot and DHS, BC is a great choice. I would happily stay at either resort and have a great experience, but I would not pay rack rate at BC. I don't think it is worth twice the price of CSR, but if you are getting a good rate, I'm sure you will enjoy it.
