Proposed Tax Plan Calculator

I do not claim to have spent a great deal of time looking at the tax plans of the candidates but I found this link interesting. Someone posted a different calculator for tax savings several weeks ago but since my taxes wil go up it did not work for me. I found this link very interesting and depressing at the same time. I cannot imagine my taxes going up that much.

Anyone want to take a look and see if the numbers look reasonable? Now, I know that this assumes the candidates tax plans will go into full effect and that very well may not happen but I still found it interesting.

I'm a CPA and will not even bother to look at the link.

Until I read "Congress has passed and the President has signed" in relation to a tax proposal it is just so much hot air.

And then I will probablly look in the professional literature and not the newspapers.

My taxes went up 10000 with McCain and higher with Obama

Same here, and I definitely would've said so if it had been better under McCain's.

Did you double check your numbers?

Yes, I checked. I didn't pull out the long form on my taxes, just input income and subtracted mortgage interest and had 2 dependents.

I can't do it I swear I'll just give myself a hearttack. I can't stomach paying anymore taxes. I'm broke now

Just curious . Does this take into consideration the fact that Obama says that the first thing he is going to do is reverse the current Bush tax cuts. I'm assuming that he is going to reverse the current tax cuts as he says and then put his tax cuts into action. So in the end are you actually going to be paying higher taxes even with his tax cuts??? Just wondering if anyone has the answer to this. It really reminds me of when we have a local mill levy election to get more money for the schools, roads, etc... All you hear on T.V. is how if you vote YES your taxes will NOT go up. Problem is they never take the time to mention that if you vote NO your taxes will go DOWN . Everyone falls for it!!
