I am thinking about proposing at Victoria & Albert's in the next few months. Has anyone else done this? What was your experiance with staff etc.? Any suggestions/recommendations out there?:grouphug:

We have eaten there and LOVE it!!! You should try to book the chefs table just because its so private and supposedly a better experience.

If you call them they can set up a proposal package and have the ring come out on a dessert plate with a white chocolate glass slipper.

The only negative is that its hard to get out of there in time to see the fireworks. So if you want to see them make sure to book an early reservation.

Oh and ask them about customizing a menu specially for her. They can do things like Nantucket Bay scallops and just random stuff that might have some sort of a meaning. They just need lots of advance notice.

I don't know what your budget is... But if it were me and we went there - I would be expecting a ring...

If you can swing it. I would book an early dinner there and have it be totally normal so she is expecting it - but doesn't get it. Just sort of as a tease. Then after dinner I would go down and have dessert on the Grand 1 yacht and see the fireworks and propose there. That could be a totally unexpected surprise and then you get to see the fireworks and have a magical end to your evening.

Good luck! Let us know how it plays out.

I think if I wanted to have a more romantic meal I would do it in the dining room. The Chef's Table is really neat and it's a great expereince, but you are sitting just off of the kitchen. You actually have to walk through the kitchen to get there. There is some degree of noise and there is a lot going on around you. There were people prepping and cooking the entire time we were there, which was so interesting to see but not the same as the quiet, intimate atmosphere of the dining room.

Sometimes you can have the Chef's Table menu in the dining room...

Either way, though, it would be fantastic. Just advising that the increased privacy dosen't necessarily equate to a more intimae experience :goodvibes:

Victoria and Albert's is magnificent.... the only problem, as Bride-to-be mentioned, is that it totally gives away the surprise. Why would you go to Victoria and Albert's and not propose?

I like Btb's idea of doing it later. The yacht is a great idea. But... this is getting pricey, and if you're planning on a Disney wedding, you might want to save up the cash and save V&A's for an anniversary dinner.

But if you do go for V&A's, I suggest making her think you're going to dinner at the Grand Floridian Cafe or maybe 1900 Park Fare. Then make it seem as if there's an opening at V&A's and they wanted you to fill it (then again, there's a dress code, so that could give away the surprise).

Is your gf a Disney lover? Any favorite characters or rides? We might be able to give you some more ideas.
