what are they? I bought a lot from a reputable(I thought) online source, recommended by a dis'er on another board- they were all discounted- but 1/2 the pins I got are propins. They say Disney on them- are they tradeable?
I ask only b/c I don't know pins from pins,we just trade for what we think is cute...:confused3 Mainly,it's my kids who love to trade......
But I'd read here that name-what's up with this?

Pro-pins aremade by a company in Germany that is licsensed by Disney to manufacture pins in Europe.

They are generally frowned on by pin traders, but to my knowledge they are perfectly tradeable in all Disney parks.

Unless things have changed over the past few years, Propins did not renew their contract some time ago with Disney. Propins were probably stopped being made 4 or more years ago.
They were cheap pins, and that is why they were less desireable.
The plus side was they often featured characters or poses that were often less used by Disney.
They generally came in sets of 9 and cost approx $19 a set at that time.
Propins are a you get what you pay for pin.
But consider, what is out there is out there. Unless they ever renew their contract with Disney.

I would not be surprised if someone is still manufacturing them, with or without Disney permission. There are way too many of those pins out there for me to believe otherwise.

I just realized I have a few of these...is it frowned upon to trade them?
